Where did all of the shells go? I think the recent winds and rain swept them off of the beach, because there was significantly less than usual! Oh well, but that didn't stop me from finding a few beauties during this visit. It was a "short" adventure (at least on camera) but I was really pleased with the huge scallop flat, the blackened Baler shell, and the adorable little Spondylus. Thanks for watching!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that Hervey Bay and it's surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can also check out his videos here:

Hello Maddie, Another rainy day with more coming. Love the Long Spined Thorny Oyster. Great find. Great video too. Love watching you find seashells when I cannot. Thank you. 💘 TRUDY

G’day Trudy 👋🏻💖 The rain seems to be everywhere right now 😅 Dad always says that we need more rain, but I’m hoping for sunshine for the both of us! The beach trip was good; the rain stayed away 😮‍💨 but the shells were few at this beach! I really liked the Long Spined Thorny Oyster too, it was adorable, yet elegant. As always Trudy, take care and thank you so much for always joining my adventures 🥰

Wow! 😮 What unusual finds today! I have 3 top favorites. The first one was the spiny oyster 🦪🦪🦪, next was the black and white baler, and my very favorite was the huge flat!!! That was so cool! 🆒 I loved all the top shells 🐚, margaritas 🐚, and ark shells 🐚. Loved today’s video! Thanks Maddie! 🥰🥰🥰

G’day Pam 👋🏻💖 There was some very interesting shells this time 🤩 though the greedy shelling in me was hoping to see more on the beach 🤣 I think our favourites match up; looking back, I wish I’d given a favourite to that fun black and white baler shell…that kind of discolouration might never be repeated, so it’s a really unique shell in that regard!! As always Pam, thank you so much for watching 🥰

Hi Maddie & Hervey Bay 👋🏼 The Spondylis was Gorgeous! The Haynes Turbans were really on point today.. Very nice and clean.. The freaky baby Baler was definitely an odd little guy. The faded Moon snail at 1:30 is my favorite today.. Thanks for another fun adventure!!! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 The Spondylus was so cool this time 🤩 but yes, those Haynes Turbans had lovely colours on them; the small ones seem to be a little less rough sometimes. That baby Baler had some awesome black dis-colouration; it's really eye catching 😲 I really like the fun shells like this! Oh wow, but that moon snail is your favourite 🐌 I do love seeing how different they all are! Thanks for watching 🥰

0:30 Oh, what a nice spondylus, Maddie😊! And there was a good catch of various good bivalves, beautiful Melo amphora and Neverita didyma's😊

G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ It was probably one of the best Spondylus that I've found, but I suddenly met a friend as I was finishing up at that beach; he found one with even longer and nicer spines 😲 was a lucky guy! Maybe more will wash up in Hervey Bay soon?? I did have a nice afternoon, even if it wasn't quite as big as I was used to 😁 Thanks for watching 🥰

G'day Donna 👋🏻💖 I'm glad there was a lot of moon snails this time...it was so odd to see no shells on the high tide line; these moon snails were just a little further back than that on the dry sand from a week earlier?? I think the rain swept a lot away 😲 Again, I'm so glad that there was some shells left for me! Thanks for watching 🥰

G'day Leslie 👋🏻🏖️ It really does look a lot like a fan, doesn't it!! Actually it's interesting; rather than the Commercial Scallops, it's the Scaly Scallops that have the second name of "Livid Fan Scallop!" It's almost too bad that the Scaly Scallops don't have a flat half too 🤔 Thanks for watching 🥰

G’day Sheila 👋🏻🐱💖 I really think you picked the two best shells as the favourites today! I can’t believe that the bivalves won our hearts this time 🤣 Though saying that, I do wish I’d found more shells to compete with them. It was bizarre to see most of the wracklines empty (is it even a wrackline if there’s nothing there?) and not much as the shore in most areas either. Never seen the beach like this; I think the rain swept a lot of it away 🤔 but it was still a nice afternoon with a few surprises for me to find. Thank you so much for watching 🥰

The large, flat scallop was lovely! I was trying to find the life expectancy for bailer snails, as I know they can grow to be huge. I found out that the melo melo snail of the South Pacific can occasionally grow a non-nacreous pearl.

G'day Maggie 👋🏻🏖️ That flat was a really lovely surprise, it has a wonderfully unique colouring 🤩 Oh wow, what a thing to try to find out; I believe the life cycle of sea snails isn't well document, or at least not in public media...I couldn't even tell you how long these Bladder Moon Snails live for! I didn't know that Melo melo baler can grow a non-nacreous pearl...I wonder what that would even look like??? I wonder if it's shiny (but not pearly) like a marble, but made of shell material? I'll have to look it up later! Thanks for watching 🥰

Hey Maddie, you seem to be finding lots of baby Balers lately, lucky you! PS: I had a little giggle at your comment about the predatory snails sticking their rasping tongues in and doing "eating" things 😂😋

G'day Lauren 👋🏻🏖️ Nooooo why did you do this to me?!!!! Now I can't stop thinking about what a dirty comment I made 😂🤣 Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with that mistake forever 😅 You know, when I was editing, I did hear that "eating things" part multiple times and couldn't help but think I should have chosen better words that day 😂 Ahh, thanks for watching!

Hi Maddie! The long tailed spindle with the predator hole is my favourite today. I would like to make a strand of similar ones with moonsnails that have predator holes strung in between them. I think it would be a fun way to display them.
@SandCoffeeRocks
@SandCoffeeRocks 2 ай бұрын
G’day Oveanluvn Gal👋🏻💖 The Long-tailed Spindle was unusually lovely with it's awesome black colour! They can only be black like this from sitting in the black sand - a normal snail will nice make it's shell black. I need to clean it up and oil it so that it has a more wicked look. I guess it could go on a strand or a necklace! I wonder how much the necklace would make a jingling sound though? It's crazy how much of a sound the shells can make against one another; the ancient Hawaiian people used to jangle Tiger Cowries against one another to lure sharks!! I digress. Thanks for watching 🥰

G'day Nelly 👋🏻💖 Hehe, I know how much you love the moon snails!! I was just mentioning to someone else that I was really glad to find them; I think the rain swept away a lot of the usual sea shells. Despite that, the Spiny Oyster is a really lucky find, I think!! Ohh exciting, Nelly 🐚🐚🐚!!! It's always a thrill to find a new shell species for the first time 😲 if you need help with finding an ID for their specific species, you can send some pics to me on Instagram. I might be able to help...or maybe not 😅 I don't know much about Indonesian shells, but some of my shell books list typical shells for the Indo-Pacific region. As always Nelly, thanks for watching 🥰

G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 That little spiny oyster is adorable! Actually, behind the scenes; as I was setting up my shells at the end, I saw a friend that I sometimes see at the home beach! I had no idea that we was visit Hervey Bay as well (he explored the beach in the opposite direction that I went in) and found an even better spiny oyster 😲 It was the same size as mine, but the spines were longer and more intact. I have no idea why they washed up like that, but I'm glad he got a nice shell on a day where this beach was less plentiful than usual! I digressed 😅 Thanks for watching 🥰
