Capacitor: "Here i am! I'm guilty!" Damn! This i have too really try. But you are trying too turn on the PS5 and are there anything else you are doing before you sprayed it? And how would you clean the motherboard?
@silver_surfer888 ай бұрын
Yes, first measure where the rail is shorted then fine tune with the freezing spray or rosin. Motherboard doesnt need cleaning its moisture evaporates in seconds or i just use a brush

Faint, that's my favorite song. Also what voltage injection tool did you use?
@silver_surfer888 ай бұрын
RIP Chester... I start with 0.8v than can ramp up if problem is not evident

Can you explain how do you inject where do you put your wires after putting a rosin
@silver_surfer889 ай бұрын
Hello, its freezing spray but rosin or alcohol can be used. Voltage is injected onto that rail that is shorted to find the faulty component
@carmelorossitto70849 ай бұрын
I found the shorted line and injected voltage but rosin did not melt. How many volts and amps do you inject? It's an easy but confusing thing to do
@silver_surfer889 ай бұрын
start with 0.8v 1.5a, then climb the amps until its 5 A or saturated. After this make sure its not the CPU / GPU / PCH power mosfets that are shorted, then you can start increasing the voltage so you can pump more amps.
@carmelorossitto70849 ай бұрын
@@silver_surfer88 , I wanted to increase to 5A, but I feared I would damage the board. I suspect the CPU is faulty as one side of the mosfets in Vcore is shorted to ground. The capacitors around and under the CPU are shorted to ground. Some capacitors under the GPU are also shorted to ground, while others have low resistance (30ohms). This laptop had a flickering screen before failing to turn on. Does a faulty CPU or GPU produce heat? I want to be 100% sure the CPU is faulty before replacing it. Heat would be the evidence of its failure. This is an Acer Nitro gaming laptop. CPU failure is a common problem in gaming laptops. Thank you very much for your advice. I really appreciate it. All the best.

@@carmelorossitto7084 CPU rail will appear shorted to ground when not power on, on many modern cpus. The way if should be measured is to +19v rail. So treat the 19+ as your ground, and cpu rail as +. If the 19+ and the cpu rail are shorted you have the problem there. - also, yes a faulty cpu and gpu will produce heat. Of course a working one will too.

@@silver_surfer88 there is 19V but it does not go beyond the first mosfet. I injected voltage and I feel heat under the GPU.

Where do you put the positive and negative probes to inject voltage? Like negative goes where and positive?
@silver_surfer886 ай бұрын
Hello, negative is Ground, wich you can connect in many places on the motherboard, for example a screw hole, a piece of exposed copper, etc. the + should be on the shorted rail

Its freezing spray, used in electronics i guess you can use those spray that are used in sports for the muscles if needed
