Snakes really are intriguing. Your videos are awesome. Can you please add to the traits, how you would recognize what kind of snake it is, like “Harmless” “long red/black striped”?

Do you need to get a tetanus shot if you get bitten by a non venomous snake?
@joshuahull99824 жыл бұрын
@@nicksantoro868 I never did and I've been bitten by too many non venomous snakes to remember. My worst 2 bites were by a 6 foot Burmese python right in the face when I was 16 and then again by a 9 foot Australian carpet python on my forearm back when I was about 30. Both times it 100% my fault because the snakes warned me to leave them alone but I didn't listen. I rubbed alcohol in the bites to prevent infection. That burned like hell. A friend of mine bred snakes and I keep snakes myself but I don't breed them. If you keep or breed snakes you have a high probability of getting bitten sooner or later.

It’s nice to see a seemingly clean and trash pollution free collection of pools! Sometimes it feels like you just can’t escape other people’s shitty messes that they leave for you to pick up before wildlife chokes on it.

Super-cool that you are so familiar with all the phases of these amphibians and insects, too! I have really been enjoying seeing these clear, shallow vernal pools....this is new to me! I also just read on Wikipedia that there's an artist who gives captive caddis flies gold flakes to build their casing out of, and then he harvests them for art!

Great video Noah! I love pool walks that you do and the narration. Sorry you got cold and I hope you don’t get sick, but I love all that stuff in the pools! We get excited about the same stuff as far as that goes. I also hope to hold a snake someday. Since watching KZbin videos and learning about snakes I am not as afraid and I even safely moved a snake with a net from the car port to the garden this past summer so it wouldn’t get stepped on or killed. I do not know what kind it was, but it was small. Thanks! 😄❤️🐬

Loved it! Love the vernal pool actions. I remember loving it last year too! I find it crazy to see so much life, such a diversity of amphibian species in one place! I live in the UK in Wales and when I was younger say around 10 (21 years ago!) Frogs, toads and newts where common. Now I almost never see frogs and only see toads if I am actively out looking for stuff, and I usually see newts alongside the toads. Sad

Go to a Tractor Supply store and buy a cheap pair of American made, rubber boots, for $20.00, and use them when ever you go herping! The ticks hate their smell! They are better protection than sandles, against thorns and fangs! and you can walk in mud and water, a foot deep, without getting your feet wet! The best thing about them is that they are so cheap that you can always buy another pair as soon as you spring a leak, but only throw out the one that leaks, because unless you always get the leak on the same side, you will end up with a bonus pair, over time.
