Gigguk PLEASE watch Yatagarau: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master. It's a political court drama like The Apothecary Diaries but with supernatural elements. It's animated by studio Pierott and directed by the director of the first two seasons and the movie of Yuru Camp, which is surprising considering Yatagarasu is a completely different genre. It's anime of the year material, up there with stuff like Dungeon Meshi and Dead Dead Demons.

For instance, they're both pretty well animated which I think gives a bit more personality to the characters. Also great #1 pick, Dangers in my heart season 2 is also my favourite of this year!

2.5 Dimensional Seduction and My Dress Up Darling are two very different shows even though they have romance and cosplay. Yes 2.5 Dim is generic harem and less focused on romance but the story goes more in depth on the niche culture and love of cosplay which I appreciate. Dress up darling focused on the romance and used cosplay as a plot point to move the story along.

fr the cosplay part in Sono bisque doll is the only point of plot progression since Gojou is a boring, mostly passive yes-man mc and marin does all the effort into furthering their relationship, and Marin's personality is all over the place. I think its overrated as a romcom. Dangers of my heart does _way_ better job in romance.

I think it's way too bad 'Senpai is an Otokonoko' didn't even get brought up in the chat while you were streaming-- I know the basic premise might not be your scene, but its seriously so well written, and the only anime I cried to all year-- and I teared up more than once. It's genuinely very emotional and the character development, relationships, and themes developed are outstanding. It helps that its also really funny too. Off the top of my head, my top 10 list would include Oshi no Ko s2, Senpai wa Otokonoko, the Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant, Dangers in My Heart, Apothecary Diaries, Frieren, Sign of Affection, Dandadan, Re:Zero, and either Elusive Samurai or Evil Lieutenent's Day Off or Witch and the Beast

My top 1 this year is definitely Girls Band Cry, EVERYONE should watch this anime, the top 2 is close between a few shows like frieren, mushoku tensei, oshi no ko and bokuyaba, i won't say anything about current season just yet but dandandan and re zero caught my attention the most so far.

I recently rewatched all of mha since my fiance had never seen it, and I remember how I felt about mha as it was airing specifically around the end of season 4 to half way through season 5. I thought it was kind of boring at the time, but I promise that watching it all consecutively was such an amazing experience and I still had goose bumps in all the places I remember from my first watch. MHA is a beautiful amalgamation of character progression, story writing, and beautiful heart tugging moments, and I can’t wait for the final season to hopefully bring it all together and seal mha as one of my favorite anime of all time!

Kinda weird that he wanted something more over the firts half from Frieren and Kusuriya and didn't put the second one in when that's exactly what the show did, Lakan is probably my favourite character of the whole year and the way they introduced him together with MaoMao's backstory was out of this world.

I did enjoy the second half of Apothecary diaries a lot, even more than the first half, but he already put it in for last year, so it's not gonna double up for 1 season. With other 24 ep shows that carry over from fall to winter, they can get in for either year they aired, but not both. I can't think of any example where an anime did show up in both years so it's probably just going to get a small mention at the start. Season 2 is coming up soon tho so that's nice.

I love Orb but Dan Da Dan episode 7 just showed that it can do it all. Dan Da Dan succeeds where Demon Slayer fails with these villains backstories, in DS their stories just feel like fillers, it doesn't add nothing to the story when Dan Da Dan feels actually part of the story making a whole character development for Aira in only 1 episode

The execution is on point so it is a entertaining show. However it does pale when you compare it to something like JJK that has very iconic characters or to the chaos of DanDaDan.

Surprisingly little people talked about it, but Oshi no Ko s2 is like top 3 of the year for me right now. It's genuinely amazing and a perfect follow-up to season 1. A lot of characters that didn't get a chance to develop as much in season 1 got to shine in s2 and every main character is really fun and interesting by the end. The whole stage play arc is so much more ambitious than anything the show did before, smashing a bunch of characters with conflicting motivations and conflicts together and letting each hold the spotlight for a moment, and I think it was executed perfectly.

Season 6 was consistently better than s5 but it suffered from the blu sky and had a horrible offscreen death scene, and introduced stuff that got to plague season 7. Meanwhile S7 struggled with its production line and this is where the manga goes downhill hard.
