Love a bit of pellet testing! It can be a real eye opener to the relationship between barrel and pellet type. Thanks for posting your results.

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, i appreciate that there are no commercials 😊, i like the jsb heavy 10.34 , 177. Hades in 22 , and RWS HOBBY for competition shooting at 20 yards

Thanks for taking the time and effort to post this. Very interesting. In the past I've found that replacing a mainspring (in the days before PCP's) could cause the rifle to change it's favourite pellet.

Excellent video explaining how pellet testing is done properly. I was a Pete’s Airgun Farm a couple of weeks ago pellet testing on the 50 yard indoor range. With my BRK Ghost, I had similar results to you with the JSB Exact 8.44gr coming out on top, although mine had a head size of 4.52. I also found that the QYS domed were fine at 35 yards, but the group opened up at 50! H&N 8’s were good in the Ghost, but I’m saving them for my HW98 springer. Despite being recommended H&N FT’s, they underperformed in the Ghost. Other JSB’s like the Heavies and Express were also excellent. I’ll try the AA Diablo Express next. Thanks

It's no problam my friend I just thought you didn't want to sell what I was asking for that's why you never got back to me but I just wanted a yes or no. But I see now by your comment you don't get a chance always to answer and that's fine bud. You just amaze me with your skills and when you are doing something on a gun I own I pretty much watch every ounce and part of them videos and if you make something for them I want it because it makes so much sence to change what your changing and putting your genious part on instead. I really wish I had your brain and skills take care my friend.

I'm at over 50 pellet types in my current testing. Multiple 5 shot groups of each, all measured and logged on a spreadsheet. My Redwolf will shoot 5mm groups at 35 yards with the right pellet, and 30mm groups with the wrong ones. Example: It hates all QYS pellets, except 8.48gn streamlined in 4.49, go up to 4.50, absolute shotgun. Pellet testing is EVERYTHING...

Nice overview and approach to the pellet testing side of things.....one thing I always try and remember is that when you do find the batch which works as you want - buy lots of them, as pretty soon you won't be able to get them and then you have to start all over again 🙂 I do have sleeves which are a few years old, however anything less than say 5 tins, then I know I have to test.....mind you, the rate I tend to use pellets 5 tins can last a fair while :-) 🙂

Lovely and informative video as always, my go to pellet in .177 is the Rangemaster Sovereign Hunter 10.33, these work amazing in my Daystate Alpha Wolf and Redwolf, neither are particularly pellet fussy the Hunters just beat everything else out.

I find my FX impact MK2 sub 12 isn't too pellets fussy .JSB ,AA ,H&H,bisley long range gold, and i have found that the bisley long range gold do extremely out too 50M and for being a lighter pellet that the others i have mentioned. I was extremely happy with them and I have used for hunting with good results, enjoyed your video 👍

Yes I agree with you your absolutely right. I asked him a few times about if it was possible to sell something he made that I could have used and is all I wanted to know was a yes or no about selling them. And I feel if you have a comment section and someone's subscribed to your channel and gives you likes and good comments on alot of your videos then give them the same when just asking a simple question. Yes or No. But no biggie.

oh yes sir it’s a must if your a target shooter . so the new batch of shorts i got from germany are awesome shot my first 5000 this week in our club monthly comp and i am over the moon . taken me 2 years to get there 🤣🤣🤣 . it’s a painful and quite expensive process but definitely worth finding that magic pellet 🤪 just don’t get to obsessed with it or you end up with a million tins of pellets 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( to be fit i find shorts pretty much go through all my rifles (shhhh keep it a secret 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

Great informative video as always 👍 if may ask a question please. I recently purchased a airmaks krait l and did the pellet testing as mentioned and the qys 9.56 streamline and qys magnums were grouping best.howerver after a couple of weeks I noticed the accuracy had gone off.nothing changed chronograph results still same.so re tested different pellets again and now jsb heavy are grouping best were as before the weren't great.not came across this before and was wondering if you could shed any light on this for me .thanks keep up the good work 👍

Awesome topic! Yea. Always good to test pellets, no matter if your rifle would even be classified as "junk" by many - such as my Sig Virtus .22, which kinda is my favorite plaything and hobby airgun to work on.. But yea. To the pellet aspect. My Virtus main food is the cheap RWS Hobby pellets which provide about a random sub 5cm clustergroup at 25. Not been worth going past 25m. The hobbys apparently (to me anyways) start to spread after 25m. Yea. I'm not much for "real" target work with this rifle anyways. The JSB Jumbos do geoup better - but I don't like wasting money on more expensive pellets, due mostly being into plinking etc. Then. The worst that I've seen - ever. RWS Hypermax pointed alloy pellets (.22). The RWS Hobbys made the ordinary as usual sub 5cm clustergroup at 25m. Then I switched over to test some Hypermaxes. => About 52cm(!!) was the distance from farthest left hit, to the farthest hit to the right made on the sheet of cardboard that I had as a scope sighting-in aid. Surely was nice to see high fps numbers with the Hypermax pellets - but the Hypermax pellet tin has been shelved ever since that first test of them... Surely no good example, due the rifle in use is more of a replica plinker, but still, the difference on paper at 25m was just insane.

I think the video flows better as is. They start showing how pellets can vary on accuracy and then they explain the process they follow which mentions barrel cleaning numerous times. I found pellet washing and lubing made little difference but again it’s test and test again. The big advantage the guys have is Petes Airgun Farm has both 30 and 50 yard indoor ranges so it removes the wind variation which probably can have the biggest effect.
