The state of Rhode Island had dozens of these bizarre "Mr. Potato Head" statues installed around the state in 1999. The majority of them have the uncanny vibe of these koalas, theyre all painted to be something different with big googly eyes and an optional hat. It was setup by the Hasbro toy company, since their HQ is in this state. My elementary school had one in the main entrance and it gave me the creeps for years. Looking on Google, there's SO many creepier ones I'm glad I didnt have to walk by 3 times a day every day as a child LOL.

I remember seeing Bear statues somewhere in Germany and Cow statues at Praque, Czech Rebublic when I was at a road trip across some European countries in the 2000's.
