In this video, "The Real Problem" section is everything. The Smash community loves fixating on all of the unimportant details and then trying to figure out which public stance they can take for the most clout, but no one pauses to consider the root cause. I'd imagine a large reason for this is they'd rather put minors and community members at risk than part with their vices. This is a cultural problem 100%.

Well done on providing a balanced viewpoint on this video and talking to everyone involved without trying to make anyone look better than each other, or making anyone look stupid for engagement. It hurts to see outside people's opinions on the smash community being full of predators when it's my full time job, and I can only imagine how much trauma it causes for the victims. There really needs to be a standard set for no minors without a guardian's supervision. Again, really appreciated the overall takeaway of this one. Fix the problem at it's core, because new, vulnerable and flawed people will come into a badly set up system and always be hurt.

The "smash community" often has things like this happen because fans of that game have a tendency to be awkward, geeky, loners. Those types of people, try as they might, have no idea how to properly behave in society. So when given the opportunity to connect with others in a close and/or intimate way, they will almost certainly eff it up royally. To you normal, well adjusted folks out there, things like how to treat people you care about, when and how to speak on sexual topics, and how to avoid compromising entanglements with minors, seems like a bunch of very easy things to do. But trust me, never underestimate how socially inept are smash players, yugioh players, or any other fans of geeky, made for kids franchises. Theres no malice in most of these instances. Nothing dangerous or predatory. Not usually anyway. Its mostly ignorance, stupidity, immaturity, or some extreme combination of the three. But that wont stop the other half of the smash community from burning them at the stake. The half that are drama queens, clout chasers, and generally spitefull assholes. Trouble is even tho these might be the true worst part of the community, the people they attack are hard to defend because the things they do/are accused of doing are in truth, very dumb. So its easier to throw your hands up and resolve to watch the whole enterprise destroy itself.

Close enough, the higher than average loner density extends beyond smash into almost all videogaming spaces. I don't know why smash would be disproportionately effected by that, what I could see is the community being on the younger end as far as gaming communities of fighting game communities go. Maybe a year younger on average, obviously very counterproductive in situations like these that need as much adult handling as possible.

This is something I said when TK Breezy made his video on the WaDi situation: " that WaDi needs to come out of substancial evidence of his innocence, and my question is: Is there substantial evidence of his guilt? If I'm not mistaken I thought TK Breezy just said it's arbitrary in the sense that society just picks an age and we all agree it's acceptable. Like there's not necessarily a clear biological reason why consent isn't slightly less or slightly more than 18, we just chose that number because it's also the arbitrary number we chose for adulthood. Either way that number should be respected though. Maybe TK Breezy said something else though, idk. Thanks for giving an update on Wadi. I've tried to look him up a few times since all this stuff happened and couldn't find anything. My reading at the time was people airing their dirty laundry and personal business. Ya, some of the stuff was less than ideal, but Wadi never seemed like an evil or dangerous person. It's sad how quickly an internet mob forms an unwavering opinion. People (maybe it's a vocal minority) seem so quick to turn on someone (or an org, like panda) and cancel them. There's no room to be nuanced, but few situations are cut and dry.

Imo the whole juno wadi thing was something that didnt need to be aired out on the internet and just seemed like a personal problem rather than the witch hunt it was made oout to be. I was much more concerned about the squerk one because the original age gap was 15 not 17 so thank you a lot for clearing that up. Tho i still believe that u should not be dating people under 18 if u are 20+ but I am glad that it was concentual. I will say after all the info has been laid out and both parties have said what they needed to say I think a year or maybe even 2 would be a fitting punishment for this. Also wanted to say i am glad that the people involved were willing to speak and not leave things to hearsay and interpretation. Good shit as always

This was a great video, I'm really sick of all the bastards who are so quick to point fingers during a drama without doing their due diligence of hearing out all the facts. It's not only unproductive, but actively hurts the people involved when randos pretend to know everything about a private affair. All they do is spew hatred in the name of self-righteousness because it just so happens to be the most obvious and popular opinion at the moment. Half of these "cancellations" happen because people suck major butt at communicating with each other and have a grudge because of it. Then they just air it all out in the public to get some validation for their experiences, giving the media circus even more fuel. It wouldn't be so bad if people were actually mature and able to discuss things in a healthy way, but the general public is toxic. Not every story has to have a narrative of victim and abuser, and in this video, you can see everyone for who they were, regular flawed people. WaDi definitely has issues and probably broke the law, but his crimes are all lukewarm compared to the vitriol he got online. Juno was young and made mistakes, and I understand what that's like for people getting into relationships for the first time(s). You will most certainly have regrets and sometimes let others take advantage of your inexperience, but she has a partial responsibility and can't really pin everything on WaDi. Squerk was probably the most mature out of everyone there, he accepted that at the time he made the conscious decision and gave consent to being involved with WaDi (A rare instance of taking some responsibility rather than pinning it all on some oppressor). He was inexperienced and treated poorly due to WaDi's personal issues but still recognized that WaDi wasn't completely all bad. In the end, Squerk even tried to help other people because he knew what it was like.
