To be honnest I really enjoy SOD for the moment and I didn't thought of playing cata because I never did this expension. But after seeing that video maybe I'll think about it and make a warrior with a cool 2x2H because me too I love to play seeing my badass armor and weapons when I beat the shit out of my ennemies ! Can I start level a character on any wrath server to prepare for cata ? Ty for the video Rascar

Yes you could play wrath right now to prepare for cata. That's what I'm doing. Getting a couple characters up and figuring out their professions. I will say that if you Wana go warrior, you should probably main spec arms since it's going to be much stronger than fury.

I wasn't pushing bleeding edge content in retail until WoD and Legion so it's been really fun going back and doing all these bleeding edge raids that I simply just didn't get to experience.

I didn't hit max lvl till Cata. Tauren paladin was my first max level in cata. I'm going to have to recreate that experience. It was so fun grinding bgs/arenas with my homies from school. It's going to be so nostalgic. Ret was so sick in Cataclysm.

Cataclysm was the first Expansion where I actually made it to the Endgame Content and I did that as Main Protection Paladin Tank, so I don't feel they were actually THAT bad.

Its the 4.3 balance patch making block based defensives worse in earlier tier. Im sure they were solid in the appropriate tier patch. Prot warrior was even played some in world/realm first t11 hc 10mans (look at Simon Gärtner or MekaniK). Prot pala is honestly fine, they just take consistent heavy dmg

I remember tanking Dragonsoul on my DK back in the Days, and allways making it a Challenge with my Frind "Boody" from the Guild "Memento Mori" (shout out to you if you ever see that :D) witch was on his DK aswell to tank the first Boss (think his Name was Morchok) and dont get a singel Point of Dmg in the Fight because the Bloodshild Mechanik from DKs were so bronken :D ahhhhh the good old Memorys

Shadow is like one of the most gangsta dps specs in Cata youtuber says you'll bring one :D Paragon brought 3 shadows on Raggy hc world first cause broken with multi target and execute.

thats not true about pos classic ...transition to TBC and then to WoTlk is basically the same, same animation ,combat , abilities , they just added more content and abilities ...but going from those "classic expansions" to cata is a really big change, the whole map , system of many things, combat, animations of new and already existing abilities that are the same to this day ...basically, since cata ppl feelk like playing a totally new game , before it was just classic getting better and better and from cata, its different@@kaicrodrigues2578

The class design and reward/loot systems of Cata and Dragonflight are very similair. The modern retail content is much harder, with 10 times more mechanics and each of those mechanics being more punishing/faster reactions required, but the Cata and Dragonflight classes are much closer to eachother than Cata and WotLK. Cata classes do not have any janky bandaid mechanics like their WotLK counterparts do, but proper mechanics built from the ground up, with real interaction between spells and functional scaling with Haste and Crit. Otherwise, most classes have access to everything their Dragonflight counterparts have. The main difference is probably that Dragonflight classes in general have more procs to react to, while the Cata classes have a longer list of spells that's used in your regular Dps rotation. Just don't make this comment again when it's time for MoP, because MoP classes are still the most complex ones Blizz ever designed, and it's not even close.

@@Melodeath00Your class design point is also so far off. Affliction for example in cata plays the EXACT same as wrath, with a few QOL shifts for drain soul. Retail has rapture gameplay that is completely different.

I enjoyed cata until Dragon Soul...that got tedious fast. Was able to raid on 3 characters back then on heroic content which was a lot of fun.

I did remember trying pve subtly rogue on heroic dungeons, it was viable...but it was much harder than the other 2 specs that were braindead easy

Sub rogue doesn't really come online until legendary daggers are available though. You can try it off the bat but your DMG is going to suffer greatly, especially if you don't know how the rotation works which is literally the hardest rotation in pve. But yea assassination is brain dead, combat is a little bit nuanced but still extremely easy.

I'm worried that ferals will still be so stupid broken because of the unreverted changes. A lot of DPS specs will just be unviable due to the parsing meta which did not exist in OG Cataclysm. RIP enhancement shamans.

been playing wrath and a month ago i finally decided to play retail and i can tell you wrath isnt even close to feeling like retail. Played a Cata provate cata server recently and it still doesn't feel close to retail. They are worlds apart. Everyone who says this hasn't played everything recently

I was a priest main whole cata and I have to disagree with much said. Holy priest for raiding is insanely good. Big raid dmg u want a holy priest also strong in 5man. Shadow priest dmg is a bit meh . But in pvp so strong. I think with fireland patch we did 9 shadow priests rated bg. Diszi priest sure for pvp and strong in pve too if you know the fights and handle cds. It lacks bit of raid healing Edit: after watching the whole video in the most clips you see pala + priest healing.

I don't think Willie is playing private servers. Demolock>Destro=Aff and all three are way closer but with Demo taking the lead for strongest AoE in the game. Aff is only really able to gain a huge lead on 3 fights I have heard. Locks should play the spec they are better at or Demo for progression (depends on if the prog boss is pure single target). Honestly, his destro comments sounded like he didn't research enough

Yeah cata's lvling was great. what ruined the xpansion for most ppl back in the day and why cata has a bad rep, was cos they remade the old vanilla zones, which all the OG players absolutly hated myself inclueded, however lvling in the new cata zones was amazing, pvp was great too, and the dungeons/raids was top notch(only bad thing was dragons soul lasted waaaay too long)

Demo lock with full mastery preset gear with chalice from firelands patch was the craziest thing, biggest doom ticks. Feral was the same because of snapshotting.

Class stacking in the earlier patches of WoW was just bad game design. If you actually enjoy playing a variety of classes and interesting rotations, you will probably enjoy Cata and beyond.

I just can't stand people with 0 knowledge who try to "rediscover" 15 years old expansions and spew bullcrap about it. Holy Priest overlooked in Cata? Literally close to no one wanted Disc priest in slot of Holy. WTF is this list about? On world first kills like Magmaw you literally can see 3 Lightwells placed. CCs pls, stop scavenging 15 years old expansion for new content because the misinformation provided to everyone is insane. We already have guides, we already have tier lists. Doing it over and over again is dumb (except when class gets rework like druid and some other classes did at WoTLK, but that's exception and should be treated like UPDATE not actually brand new guide) edit: The funniest thing about holy priest i find, is that he said that its overlooked, then immediately after that, on warlock section you can see light well on Deathwing Madness 5:56 and Nefarian world first you can see disc and the Holy 12:19

I played an Arms Warrior on both Cata and Mists private servers and can say that Cata improved Arms but Mists perfected it. Legion Arms was awesome to play but it just lost too much of what made it feel special in MoP.

Cataclysm dps in order - Warlock Mage Rogue Warrior DK Hunter Shaman Paladin Priest Tanks in order- DK Druid Paladin in order Healers - priest druid shaman paladin in order And yes mage has bloodlust in Cata at lvl 84 i think so ye mage will be wanted in many groups if u do not find shaman

So I just finished the video, and he has some points for protection warriors, except the damage part He says taking damages like a bad thing but Warriors are designed for taking as much damage as possible We have some crazy damage soaking if done correctly, we usually have ways of keeping ourselves alive through rather ridiculous situations because of the cooldowns he mentioned And none of our cooldowns are really that long You can easily main tank as a prot warrior If you have yourself set up right The problem is is a lot of people just don't know how to use it In lich King I was only off tank in two raids but easily main tanked every single raid after those two Mind you this was two to four raids every weekend for a year and my success rate was pretty good

Im not playing Cata. Dropped out phase 3 Wrath. It became too meta, too inflated economy and too boring tbh... But I said from day 1 they Wrath should be IT for "Classic" - they should roll FRESH Cata servers and start people level 1, fresh economy so people can actually play the new world they created (not just Goblin/Worgen). Instead - bis'd out Wrath toons will progress into a world that they'll STEAMROLL through to get to 85. Alts will have every top piece of gear/enchants/bags/bis/twink gear known to man (along with heirlooms) and the entire brand new world will be completely dead - nevermind just teleporting to where you go... they shouldve buffed the mobs in the overworld as well so it was semi challenging (like Vanilla level hard) and made fresh. DEAD WORLD ON ARRIVAL - all that wasted real estate again.

are you kidding me?? you realise that's an oxymoron, right? viable and MOST. viable means adequate - good enough.... you want to find the "most good ENOUGH" classes??? this is what's wrong with wow players. they can't accept mediocrity. and sure, in mythic and upward, that's warranted but players latch on to the notion that if you bring a "suboptimal class" you're ruining the experience for the whole group. Imagine if that happened in other social things - on a public youth basketball course, you can only play if you can do 10 lay ups within 40 seconds and if you miss even one you're out - as a 15 year old... that's what these standards feel like. it's supposed to be a game, but because I have to accomodate 9 other people, if I don't do the 40 minute youtube video of strats, buy the consumables, come in with at least a dozen potions and world buffs... if I play a class that yesterday was bottom of the dps meters on wowlogs, even doing all that won't be enough to find a group... it's depressing is what it is, you play the game as an RPG and try out classes and specs and you're barred from multiplayer content for doing it...

I will not be playing Cata. My wow journey ends here (after SoD)... Cata doesnt interest me one bit. To be fair, I think it interests the people who actually played it back in the day perhaps more... I came in at TBC and the nostalgia of classic in 2019 hit HARD. I have zero nostalgia for Cata. I quit wow when it dropped back then. When will the Nostalgia goggles wear off? Legion? You have to think there will be some people hyping BFA at some point probably for nostalgia reasons. Im hopping off the Classic bus at this next stop
