dueling in mop as fire was so fun but not in arena the setup was so hard to do but if it work tend to kil ppl in deep freeze or close it . the dispel really hurt fire mage. in the US i think at the top of the ladder there where 3 max glad mage at best

I main a war and have played some cata servers such as whitemane. I really love warrior pvp. Sure it isnt the best class overall but i mean its still very viable in 2s and in 3s. it does a ton of damage and has good defensive cds and utility. Its very capable of getting to R1.

Ele was absolutely awful to play as in Cata because you were alwaaaays the target. It worked best with a really good mage. Even when you were casting your damage was kinda trash lol. It only had really good burst.

Think your private server data is scewing this, combat rogue was t only the top rogue spec but top melee spec, throughout cata its competitive with feral Druid until dragon soul when the legendary z pop in. Sub can shine but only in perfect speed clears it falls off below assassination on this list im linking if the fights go on to long only mages demo locks and marks hunters out dps a combat rogue.

Rogue is broken. All else aside. Think of this. Enraged Regen is a 30% hp heal, 2 min cd. Rogue recuperate heals for 3% your per 3 sec. 1% hp per 1 sec. Buffed to 4% by talent. And 6% less damage taken. Also makes you take 20% more healing from all sources including itself. So another 0.8. Round up to 1. Recuperate heals you 5% hp per 3sec perma. Not kidding up at all times. Heals as much as a enraged regen tik. It's a joke.

some corrections based on playing private servers: All 3 shaman specs r viable All 3 priest specs r viable to some degree. Holy is just hard to play. All 3 warlock specs r viable, tho destro is easily the worst of them. BM hunter is viable. Survival can work if you make it. Blood dk is viable if u wanna make the other team hate u forever. But yeah just some things I’ve seen working on cata pservers.

People just hate Cata for no good reason, the echo chambers on reddit make it 10x worse, if you ask these people why the xpac is so bad they often say things like how long dragon soul lasted, or that the old world got revamped, but the reality is it has amazing class design, fun PVP, rated BGS, fun raids, and fun dungeons!

I mostly agree with you, however I disliked Cata due to lack of end game world content. Once you got exalted with reps, which wasn't even that big of a deal, you had 0 reason to ever visit Uldum, Deepholm, Vash'jr, etc. There weren't a lot of end-game quest lines until 4.2 added Molten Front. There just wasn't really any incentive to go out in the world, you just sat in Org / SW all day, which felt pretty bland. Cata would have been so much better if it had world quests and world bosses with a timeless isle type zone.

Y’see my only gripe *was* Dragon Soul. I just didn’t enjoy the raid, but that is a two part problem between how long it lasted and having to lead a raid team that spent that entire length of time never taking down N Nelth. It was soul crushing to pug better than a core team.
