I found your channel and watched your video on water breaking down paint which I knew but I loved your explanation and your style of sharing information. You are a teacher for sure. I loved that video and so now I’m watching this video. Glad I found you. Look forward to watching all your videos.

Hi Michele! I’m grateful to have found your channel. I’ve just started painting acrylics on canvas and your video on how water washes break down the pigment and binders was eye opening! I’ll definitely remember the 30:70 water to paint ratio or move to airbrush or gloss medium. I’m 1/2 way through this video and have committed myself to a 15 minute art moment in the morning before heading to work. I’d much rather commit to that then reading the news. It’s important to stay informed, but I’d rather start my am with art and find some other time for the news. Do you think it would benefit my acrylic painting practice if I only have time for colored pencil sketching? I’ve got some pencils and tried a little sketch , but they don’t blend colors like paint. Maybe it’s because they’re just Crayola’s. Is there another medium to use that blends colors like paint? Whatever I use would have to be do-able on a small table. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. I’ve subscribed, liked, and hit the 🔔!

You might try Caran d'Ache watercolor crayons. You can draw with them they are like soft pastels and and then you can take a wet brush to them to blend the colors. Something like this: amzn.to/2SKJWDK What I think makes the closer to acrylic than water-soluble pencils is the thickness and density of pigment you can build up and layer. If you try them, let me know what you think! Thanks so much for subscribing and happy painting!

I sometimes use Marco raffine colored pencils-they’re versatile in that they can be used as watercolor pencils, where you can blend and smooth the color with a water filled pen. Just something you can look into 😊

None of my business but I will recommend you definitely ditching the news for good. That will take your life to a new level. You don’t really need to “be informed”. What you need is a strong personality to be able to say “no, sorry, I didn’t know it because I don’t watch TV”. And that’s all. Watching the news is like putting toxic into your soul. Hope you still up with your practice 😘

Hello, thank you for your videos. I hope you are well. I am a small tile business - not open yet. I have a lot of allergies/asthma as well. I am using alcohol ink on my tiles. Do I need to use some kind of a sealant first before the liquidex pouring medium? Thank you very much. Hope Atlas QuoteHope Tiles LLC

Good luck with your tile business. I would reach out to Liquitex as this is a complicated issue. It depend on what type of tiles you are using. Alcohol is a solvent for acrylic, it weakens the molecular bonds and so I am not sure if it is safe to use pouring medium over it.

@@MicheleTheberge I find your words very inspiring during these difficult times we are navigating. My art therapy group has been postponed for a while already due to the crisis in NYC. I find that the mutual inspiration and support you were talking about in this video are very vital.

@@eugenecherny5177 Eugene - your comment means the world to me. I am feeling very called to post more for the time being. I have a bit more time so that makes it more do-able. Stay safe and healthy! We'll get through this.

Of course. I feel you. That can be hard to keep at it. Someone recently had a similar question that I just did a video on that might help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqKZnYWsi7Zmi8k
