Sure are, but tbh we use a 5000 as well and not really a lot between them in the right hands. Love the GPS feature in the zed tho.

BK Gold Detecting nice I’m running the 4500 (great machine also) but I don’t get out very often so can’t justify upgrading. Yeh that feature would be very handy indeed!

Bush and Beach Australia The two biggest nuggets in our last video were found by Eliza with the GPX. We mainly use the Minelab commander 15 x 12 coil. This is a very much underrated coil. I have done tests and am convinced it is very comparable to the Zed.

Know that area well, and as you show low and slow gives you the rewards. Go further down the gully and you will see a huge patch that was once there 😊

I don’t have smaller coils for the GPZ7000, but Eliza sometimes uses a small coil on the GPX5000.

You make it look so easy, To set up camp walk not far and get nuggets 15 minutes after breakfast so lucky... Wonder if you go gold hunting at this time of the year start of November or does it get too hot
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
Out and About with Christie's Travels Thanks, if you watched the previous video we did spend a whole day patch finding before stumbling on a good spot not far from camp. It’s surprising how often the best spots are close to camp, most people walk as far away as possible thinking they have mire chance. It’s a shame the lockdown has stopped us going back, it does get very hot as we approach summer, I love winter/spring detecting :)

Hi BK I really enjoy watching your videos, I only have a vlf detector, should I do the same tricks with it as you with a pi detector and where is the best spot to find my first nuggy in the gt? Keep up the good work.⛏️👍
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
luckyja1 Thanks for watching, I’m not a big user of vif, but did have a gold monster for a while. All the same applies as far as working out the best areas and how to work an area. The big difference is only in the capabilities of the machines. I’m a pi man, but VLF do have their strengths, in particular in junky areas. I can tell you that in my opinion most of the nuggets I found in part 3 could have been found with a VLF, mainly shallow targets. There were many places where I couldn’t get my bigger coils into where I wished I still had my gold monster. Hope this helps.

Great video! Dose the Gpx find any?
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the biggest one was found with the GPX by Eliza. When she called me over she used my GPZ to confirm the target and dig it up, as she only had headphones with the GPX. I’ve used both machines and there is very little between them. The main reason I prefer the Zed is the GPS mapping.

Hi BK just wondering how do you camp overnight,,do you both setup tents or do you sleep in the car as i noticed you got quiet a bit of gear,,cheers mate
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
robert tufo Believe it of not, we both sleep in the car. We half a full length mattress inside. All the equipment we have packs either under the bed in the compartments or on the roof rack, with just a few items on the bed until setup. Over the years we have learnt exactly what we need and don’t need so no unnecessary stuff.

Hi BK love your detecting videos. You provide so much knowledge to a new prospector like myself so its really invaluable to learn from what you do. I've got a dilemma I'm torn between getting a SDC 2300 or a GPX5000 what would you do in my shoes cheers
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Thanks for watching, a lot depends on your circumstances. The SDC is a nice compact machine if you are traveling and want something lightweight and portable. A very sensitive machine but coil sizes are much smaller so no as good if you need to cover large areas. The advantage of the 5000 is the huge range of coils available, everything from tiny coils like the Sadie to large 18” or bigger coils for deep detecting and large areas. For me I would go the 5000, but you need to look at your own circumstances and budget. Both are great machines but with strengths in different areas.
@SDC_Prospecting4 жыл бұрын
@@BKGoldDetecting Is the 5000 easy to learn like settings wise. I feel like the 5000 would be good but unsure on how hard the settings are to learn. isnt the SDC just basically turn on and away you go? But as you said the 5000 has bigger coils than the SDC and will probly go deeper too and find bigger nuggets in which we all want.
@BKGoldDetecting4 жыл бұрын
Daniel If you buy a new 5000, many dealers will give you a free lesson. Tbh, if you run with default factory at first and just adjust the RX gain depending on the ground noise you will get good results. As you get more experienced you can slowly experiment with other settings. Eliza uses the 5000 with great success with very little change to factory settings other than RX gain.

rod wilson Thanks Rod, it’s an OZtrail Camp Kitchen with Single Pantry. We don’t use the pantry bit in the videos, it just clips in. We love this unit as it folds flat and takes very little room up when packing. We got it from Tentworld but they are available in many camping stores.

I think the reson that some people don't fill their holes in is the same reason that some people leave litter behind. I guess that must mean that the people that do that are the same people. And thats because they think out of sight , out of mind. They simply choose not or have not thought it through.

Mohammed Novalija Completely agree with you Mohammed. I do get a bit annoyed that people are inconsiderate. It’s up to us all to protect the beautiful country we live in.

No audio smoothing, but I am a fan of lowering the sensitivity to suit the ground. Ha ha, I offered to get an SDC for Eliza but she said no thank you, she likes the bigger coils and works as hard as me detecting. Nice to have a partner who is as passionate as me about gold.
