It’s a rhinorack batwing. Our setup wouldn’t work without it, gives plenty of sun/rain protection especially with the side panels installed.

10:22 omg. GPS system in a metal detector. Was wondering how the hell you would find your way back to camp, since walking 50-100m you could get disorientated cause of the shrubs. I watch others dragging a chain behind them to track their path. Is this gps feature only on the minelabs detector?

@@BKGoldDetecting thanks. The 7000 picked it up in between a tree's roots at a location that has been well covered by prospectors, so I got lucky ☺. I'm hungry for more now lol.

Thanks for putting together this series. After finding endless lead shot, hot rocks and chunks of tin, it's great to have someone with experience helping out a new prospector. Hoping to get my first gold tomorrow!
@BKGoldDetecting
@BKGoldDetecting 3 жыл бұрын
Good luck Matt, every now and then the lead shot is a good nugget. If the shot is still there then no one has detected that area properly. Done bd afraid of old detector holes, they are signposts to a good gold area. If you have watched part 3 and the follow up part 3 (cont), that area has been heavily detected in the past, but we pulled over 20 grams out of there. 5 mins from town. Look out for old timer holes, they rarely got it wrong. BK

Great video Kevin. Would you mind elaborating on what you mean by “doing circles” once you find a nugget. Your videos are very informative, keep up the great work.
@BKGoldDetecting
@BKGoldDetecting 4 жыл бұрын
Paul Bourke Thanks, once I find a nugget I very carefully do all the ground around it working from the nugget outwards (circling the nugget). It gives you the best chance of picking up a pattern, of run that the nuggets are on. In this case it led to finding 3 in line, so then I concentrate more on that line as I move further out from the first nugget. Hope that makes sense. :)

robert tufo Thanks for the comments, I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro for my newer videos, some of the older footage is on cheaper phones so are not so clear. Don’t like carrying too much equipment when detecting so the iPhone is ideal. I have a lightweight collapsible tripod as well which fits in my backpack.

BK Gold Detecting have you ever used the sdc 2300?? Herd they have it up to the gpx 5000 just wondering if that was true
@BKGoldDetecting
@BKGoldDetecting 4 жыл бұрын
Isaak Mackley The SDC 2300 is a great machine, very sensitive but not a lot of depth due to small coil size. It’s more sensitive than the GPX5000 with the standard coils, but if you put a really small coil on the GPX such as a Sadie coil there is very little in it. In my opinion the SDC is as sensitive as the GPZ7000 on shallow small targets, but the Zed has the advantage of far greater ground coverage and depth.

BK Gold Detecting do you think the sdc would pick up the small nuggets that you found in this video?? At the depth you found them??
