‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ THIS EPISODE ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣
RV life is always an adventure and will keep you on your toes! As we were heading out of Anchorage and down to see friends and Crew Members in Soldotna, another one of our FOS Crew posted to our secret Facebook group that they were having truck issues, so we picked up a part and helped fix a problem that we had with our truck last summer. Has this happened to your truck?
After making sure that our Crew Members were ok (and hearing the Lineage’s cute horn for the first time), we continued to Salmon Catcher Lodge where our friends were working for the summer and got to celebrate a birthday, check out the hot tub at the lodge, watch some fishing on the Kenai and check out the local farmer’s market in Soldotna that happens every Wednesday in the summer.
This is the 2nd set of friends that we met up with in Alaska who we last saw in the Florida Keys! Living the RV life makes the world smaller and smaller, and we are so grateful to have the ability meet up with friends all over the country, to be able to meet their extended family and to celebrate special occasions with them!
Our next stop was what we had been looking forward to since we left Alaska 6 years ago - Homer! As we have mentioned many times, locations are great, but it is the people that make certain places special. Reuniting with friends that we met the last time we were in Homer was such a sweet gift!
We also discuss while in Homer why we haven’t been part of the Starlink club…until now!
Stay tuned for next week as we take an incredible boat ride across the bay and try not to get stuck at low tide! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!
Don’t wait to live your life, find your 🔆SOMEDAY🔆 now!

Your video about the blown turbo hose saved my bacon last year! As soon as it happened I thought “tire blowout”, then remembered where I’d heard that noise described before. Still had to get a tow because of that stupid compression fitting, but the mechanic had the replacement parts by the time we arrived. His hack was to put hairspray on the pipe before sliding the hose back on and clamping it tight. He said it acts like a lubricant then turns into a glue to help keep the hose secure.

@@FindingOurSomeday BTW, unless I find a coveted “pull through” spot in the parking lot, I always back in. It’s a habit from my deployments in the Army (kind of like writing dates as dd/mm/yy). We called it “tactical parking” back in the day. You never want to be in a situation where you have to do more than punch it if you have to un-*$$ a location in a hurry!

I've been backing in to my garage, parking stalls, etc for decades. I've had a few close calls coming out of my garage but one day a small child on a bike flew by. I know if I was backing out vs driving straight out, the outcome would have been horrible. It only makes sense to me to back into an area when parking your vehicle. You're a good man helping a friend in need. Safe travels to you and your family.

Lived in Homer from Sept to June probably 15 years ago as a travel hospital worker and it was an incredible fall/winter/spring. One of the best travel assignments I had and that winter was perfect with more snow than normal so XC skiing was perfect. Miss it and often think I should move there permanently but guess I am a Colorado girl to heart. Glad you could help that guy out.

We blew the turbo hose on our Sprinter like you're driving now. We'd come from NC to ND, East Glacier, Canadian Rockies, West Glacier, Yellowstone and Tetons and were headed home to Western NC. Got 77 miles east of St Louis and blew the turbo hose. Limped back to Mercedes of St Louis. They took care of us and had us on the road in a few hours. We had one of those paint sticks for glass like car dealers use so we unhooked our toad and I followed our Winnebago View slowly back to St Louis with the message "Sorry - RV ahead is sick" written on the back window of our Honda Element. We thank God that the problem didn't happen in any of the remote areas we'd been in!

Homer was great stay. We drove down from Anchorage. Beautiful drive. We had a cabin rented about five miles east of Homer. Did a lot of fishing at Anchor point, float fished a lake north of Homer, and spent the day (July 5, 2014) on a halibut charter out of Homer with our 16 yr old grandson. Brought back 115 lbs of halibut filets to NE Tn. Great trip!

Backing in is so much safer in my opinion as you have just scouted the surroundings as you arrive. So when you are ready to leave you can see what’s in front of you much easier. Many businesses have a safety rule to back in when you arrive so you can safely exit your location with good visibility of your surroundings with no waisted time.

Backing into parking spots are so much safer. I always do when possible. It’s also amusing to watch how many copy cats there is. There won’t be a single vehicle backed in until you do it, and it’s a train reaction from the next several people parking near you. Then comes the one person to spoil the entertainment by pulling nose in. On a side note, we love the beautiful views yall always tend to capture. Prettiest video on your KZbin, and always crystal clear!
