About Fine Dining - A Comedy Short Vampire Film
This 2018 short comedy film by Usher Morgan tells the story of a tired old vampire, determined to abandon the path of effortless consumption and give in to his long-abandoned animal instinct. Fine Dining was inspired by the opening scene to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
This short comedy film by Usher Morgan was the result of a screenwriting challenge in which the filmmaker was asked to replace the main characters in their favorite dialogue-driven scene with folklore characters and rewrite the dialogue based on the characters they've introduced. The result is Fine Dining - a moving, breathing art piece, a rotoscope animation in motion, presented as an animation - this short comedy film was created over the course of 4 months, it had to be painted and processed frame-by-frame.
This award winning short comedy film by Usher Morgan was first conceived as a Pulp Fiction short film, but later changed to a rotoscope animation; the rotoscope animation was created frame by frame with a variety of applications such as 3DS-Max, After Effects, Photoshop, Prisma, and additional paint filters. Since it is a rotoscope animation, it could not be nominated for best animation awards in festivals, therefore we had to face the challenge of figuring out to which category this short comedy film would be fitted.
