Hypothetically speaking, what if I took a solo trumpet recording of a favorite trumpet player, or a segment of a recording that features just trumpet, and then used that as my matching EQ reference, would that be a good way to compare the EQ settings that I may have created for my own solo trumpet recording? Hypothetically speaking, of course. Thanks for your wonderful content!

Would you use it before or after mastering assistant? I use arter and it seems to remoce 2db at least, which i csn compensate but just to keep simple.. maybe before the mastering adsistsnt and turn of the EQ on the mastering assistant?

You'd use the Match EQ before the Mastering Assistant. Because of the Limiter in the dynamics section of Mastering Assistant, Mastering Assistant should always be the last plugin on your stereo output. You can experiment with the Auto EQ on/off. It may counteract what you're trying to achieve with the Match EQ, so I would likely keep it off. Cheers Georges

How do you "load" the professional reference song from Apple Music?
@FloBorge8 ай бұрын
Just drag it on the reference window . And then you can save it as a preset so no need to re analyse the reference each time.

I'm confused,both songs were the same!! The reference was the same as the example,wasn't it?? on another question though...Many times I import a reference track,it is so Hot (and in the red)that I always have to turn the wave down..Should my finished track be that hot that it pins in the Red?

The reference track was Like a Stone by Audioslave. I loaded the file directly into Match EQ rather than listen back to it like the original track. The reference track shouldn't be going over 0db. If it is, check to make sure your faders (reference track, stereo out, master out) are all at 0, and make sure there are no plugins activated on your stereo out. I hope that helps. Cheers Georges
