I like to make my rules automatic when I know it is a fixed amount. That way if there is a change in the payment amount for utilities, rent, insurance, etc. then I'm made aware of that because it will show up in the bank feed as it doesn't match the rule criteria. Basically just be as specific as possible.

Hey Morgan, Intuit has a thing this tax season where they will waive the two years experience requirement for tax pros if you complete the Tax 1 course and do 15 mock returns they provide. It ends Nov 1st so rhe deadline is fast approaching, but I know you get a ton of people asking how to start bookkeeping, and that might be a good foot in the door for some of them.

Great presentation, Morgan. May I ask what CRM and/or marketing (apps) you use for your business operations aside from QuickBooks Online? I apologize if you've mentioned that in other videos. I just came across your KZbin channel today but I'm subscribed now! Thanks.

When entering meal receipts from bank feed how do u know how much is tips which is not taxable in canada so breaking out tge sales tax is difficult

Hey! Unfortunately Morgan has not worked with clients in Canada, so she does not have experience with this. You could, however, ask your client to keep the receipts and give them to you. Krista (FinePoints Admin)

Transactions are listed in QB Bank Feeds, correct? Then how do those transactions get into the client's QB account, categorized into the proper accounts? I'm assuming this is something we, as a bookkeeper, would need to do? Or what happens when the client enters receipts into their QB account? Can you be sure they're correct?
