I have bought $2000 worth of doublets from Grand Opal over the past 5 years and have been greatly satisfied with their prices and quality. I make rings, bracelets and pendants with their Opals and have never had a problem with the quality or refunds. The other commenters seem to be other dealers/miners who are mad about Grand Opals great, low price. Their are reputable and trustworthy sellers of good quality doublets of Australian Opals.

kevin stellman just a bit upset that he downplayed the importance of black opal not to mention its rarity. Doublets don’t count, there is a reason they are cheaper which is ok. But don’t discount the queen she is the most elusive, most beautiful and most desired with good reason! Other than that Good on you for posting , no bad on you ! I mined some N1 black opal (limb cast) in Nevada two months ago. It’s breathtaking and has a directional broad flash in parallel sheets like a plume of peacock feathers. It’s world class black opal, check it out

That peacock pattern is harlequin lol look up opal patterns peacock harlequin is rarest there is. But I don't agree 100% with you because Australian black opal is always better. The Queen wears a massive Australian crystal Opal for a reason. Its the most stable in the world

Doublets have potch glued onto the back to make the we m dark opals. Without the potch, these woul not be black opals.

Doublets are thin layers of opal glued to a background that makes the colours stand out more, its a scam... if those where actual opals from australia that are not only fluresent but photofluresent he would have like 5 million or more worth of opal in this video.. cause they are doublets and triplets they are worth dirt compaired to actual aussie opal... you can tell you have proper opal by getting a blue light/uv light and shining it on it, it will glow, when u turn the light off.. it will glow for a second thats how you telk its aussie opal

I'm not sure about this seller. He isn't really giving straight answers. He must be a forgein seller who doesn't mine. Prefer to buy from miners. Its not marked up again by a third party.
