for a better “hover” i’d say use one big magnet instead of small ones because it’s probably being attracted towards the sides of the magnets. idk though i’m no engineer but i’ve been through elementary school
@anthonyspentzos3 жыл бұрын
@D'Mario Albino if you try and push two magnets together both on their negative side they will push away but also start attracting to the sides of the magnets. so using one large flat magnet could possibly prevent that from happening

hi David I'm an electrical engineer i found your channel whilst researching fingerboard parks for my son I built a pretty cool one btw and for your magno-hover to work you'll need to coil one very large loop of copper wire all the way around the edge of the platform ALOT of times making a huge electromagnet this will create a huge polarity field that your little neodymium magnets should sit nicely on top of its relatively simple physics (though i do have a PhD) its quite cheap as copper wire can be easily found on da bazos if you do wanna try do this reply to my comment and i can email you the full spec read out so you can make it super cool.

Bro this is so cool, you should open the hover platform and fill the inner void with more of the same magnets. maybe double those under the fingerboard as well I think the distance of the void has it only barely connecting magnetic fields. And the small voids between magnets probably don't help either. So I'd recommend layering them in alternating placement so the voids disappear.

Use liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors + a magnetic track, it's what Lexus used to make their hoverboard work. It's also what JR is using in their maglev train that they're building from Tokyo to Osaka.

The reason the board did not hover was that some of the magnets in the wood shell would been randomly north or south therefore being opposites and creating hotspots or parts where the board was sucked down. The way to fix this would be taking off the the top of the shell and putting the board on each magnet and and checking if the board is repelled on each magnet, if the magnet is pulled down flip the magnet in the shell and glue it down. Hope this helped:)
@jirehjirehjirehjireh3 жыл бұрын
Also using squat magnets to fill in the gaps left by the round ones may help. Magnets repelling tend to attract at the edge, so having a large unbroken surface area will help.

Round magnets will almost attract each other because they don't really have a North and South side. The have really small norths and souths directly side by side. To realize your idea you would have get stick magnets or something similar and let the north or the south point upwards and you would have to do the same thing for the board. The problem is you would have to line up the magnets side by side without a gap in between because in the gaps the board would be attracted. I don't know if it's even possible without using electro magnets (which would be way to big and probably to expensive).

If you just flip the board with the magnets in it over than you'll be using a different magnetic field which should work... PLEASE SEE THIS COMMENT DAVID.
@sillybears46733 жыл бұрын
Your trippin. Made zero sense. The moment he flips the board over it will be n to s pole attraction and thus be attracted to the centers of each magnetic field produced by each individual round magnet.. then the null points in which he was originally falling , will be the new points of levitation. Adding more space where the magnet attracts to the board and fails.

To make clear grip get glass bead from a hardware store this is used for sandblasting parts and stuff or you can buy sand from a arts and crafts store aswell Btw try removing the wood panels from the platform this might help a bit
