Great idea for storing the lines, Jordan. You and Desiree have a constant stream of great ideas. Captain Oso is as cool as he is, because of you. He knows he is loved, safe, and a priority for both of you. There is no such thing as nothing breaking during a voyage. So, I wish you a voyage where anything that breaks can be fixed immediately, there is an extra functioning one stowed on board, and the fix can be performed without breaking a sweat or feeling sick. Wishing you all a sweet smooth trip. Can't wait for the sails to be hoisted. Happy Sails to you! 💖💖💖💖💖

Desiree, your words about why you like exploring new places was perfectly said….there is no better way to see the world go by slowly than by boat and there are so many beautiful cracks in our world that can only be found by boat…

Hi Jordan and Desiree from Guernsey in the Channel Islands! I never cease to be impressed by your learning and skills and I love watching your videos. Seeing you've just had diesel bug in your tanks brings memories of the Cruises in Company I used to run. 25 motor boats would take part as we shepherded them around the English Channel and north coast of France. The most common cause of breakdown was water and diesel bug. Four key lessons were learned. One, keep the tanks free of water by ensuring the O rings on the filler caps are good and keep the tanks full to reduce condensation. Two, is always to keep the diesel treated with a good biocide such as Grotamar 82. Third, is to have a separate primary filter (such as Racor) before the fuel hits the engine's fine filter - why? Changing a hot fine filter is way to nasty when at sea, whereas changing a Racor filter is easy. Four, do not buy fuel from a supplier which has been refilled within the last 24 hours - why? Refilling a supplier's tanks stirs up any nasties, which need time to settle. All the very best on your voyages!

Suggestion: Get a venting funnel for filling your new diesel tanks to avoid the issue you had.

I think all the places you stay, and get to know the community and the people, leave footprints on your heart. I’ve always travelled and worked all over the world as an expat, and I have fond memories of almost every place I’ve stayed for a while and got to know. Your life is an adventure and you’re going to make so many happy memories over the coming years. You’ll never forget Washington since that is the place that your first child was conceived, so you have an anchor to that place for the rest of your lives. I wonder how many anchors you’ll plant across the globe in the coming years. Safe travels Buds!

Hi again Jordan and Desiree. Enjoying the scenery as always I'm glad you're heading south. Cute little Oso. Gosh do you have your boat fixed out pretty good. Interesting to watch Jordan and you fix things and enjoy the cooking. It makes me hungry. Well while you're hitting the high seas heading south, hope you don't need any highways and thanks for this episode and look forward to the next. Been watching you forever. God bless you all and catch you the next time. Adios

The fuel polishing will have cleaned most of the diesel bug out of your tanks. Would be a good idea to use a bug treatment in your fuel tanks, especially now that you will be getting fuel from dodgy sources in your travels. I don't know which product is popular in the USA but I have had no problems using 'Fuel Set' Here in Europe. I used a shock dose first time and now use a maintenance dose whenever I fill with fresh diesel.

Hey Jordan, Amazon has a kit with a drill, wrench, fish wire, and copper vents with screw on caps. They have the o-rings already installed. You can add them to any plastic or steel Jerry can. I put them into my new style ones and they fill and flow just like the old ones now. You drill the hole, fish the wire over to the spout hole, attach it to the valve, pull them through the hole, then screw a nut on tighten it down, and put the screw caps on. They were a breeze to install and so worth it. I think I paid $9 for a 4 pack with the drill, wire, and wrench.

Are you considering putting webbing or a net along the rail of the boat to help protect the dog while traveling? That’s a cute dog and my only concern is one wrong move on his part may be a dog overboard situation for you. Not being critical, just curious. You two have done incredible work preparing your yacht for sailing and for an arm chair sailor that was something I thought about while watching the video.

So close to take off! Just one safety thought. Watching Oso, cute and tiny. just wondering if he could fall off if the boat jerks. How about that netting all around the boat rails like SV Delos installed for their new child. You'll need it anyways for the future baby🎉. You have come so far. just think back when you announced you were selling your old boat. Congrats!

May I suggest the possibility of stopping in Bermuda? This is because looks like you guys will be essentially doing a sea trial for all the new equipment and the rig. And a Bermuda stop will help regroup after being on shore for so long and making last minute changes, plus still relatively easy to have something shipped. Fair winds, and be safe.

How exciting that you finally get to do a shake down run in prep for your trip. On your error message issue, I was thinking that you could disconnect that hot wire while under way to see if it results in the same error message (or a different one). The funnel you have, glue or tape on the outside a piece of plastic hose from like the sprayer in windex or 409. It will prevent your funnel from seating and provide some ventilation. Only 👎is is the fuel may compromise the glue. Or, something U shaped like a thick copper ground wire , hang it over the can nozzle to prevent the funnel from seating. Safe travels y’all ! ⛵️

Stock up on several types of FDA and Euro approved CoVid test kits. We’ve encountered issues with acceptance of some kits with telemed services. Also, check the expiration dates since there are online retailers selling expired or near expired kits. Traveling across borders and being compliant with quarantine measures is a nightmare and can really eat away at one’s sanity and wallet. Good luck. The vessels looking great!

Boats looking great. Good fault finding with that intermittent open circuit Jordan. I was thinking with the Jerry cans in deck I'd cover them with a dark light proof tarp or custom made cover. As much as I'm glad you're back on the water and moving, something about all those projects will be missed by me. I absolutely can relate to that feeling of freedom you get from all the hustle of getting ready then finally casting your lines. I feel the same way (on a micro-level) each time I take my dirt bike out. So much prep getting all my gear together and loading the bike in the back of the truck and driving to the track. Once I get there, I usually just take a few minutes to sit and relax, knowing that the next few hours are just me and the bike and the dirt...and whatever thoughts run through my head. Funny, I don't really miss my boat or the chores that came with it? haha

So fun watching cute Oso steer. If you could make a perch for him, I bet you could train him to follow your commands to steer with commands like "sail straight", "right" and "left" on calm days. That is if there isn't too much resistance/weather helm from the wheel since his paws can't really grip the wheel. You might have to put a terry cloth sleeve on it or something to make it easier for him to "hold on to".
