Hi Jesse, thanks for your help on Minnect. Unfortunately I had unexpected problem. Radon mitigation created a negative pressure and causing some backdraft issues with water heater. The water heater will backdraft when it’s cold and not on. I am thinking backdraft damper might resolve the issue. Any thoughts?

how big of a fan do you need for multiple point suctions. our basement was mitigated but long term level is still around 5.3. It was 12 when we tested it.

We mostly use small and medium-sized fans. The more suction points you have, the smaller the fan you can use.

@@AmericanRadonMitigation what about pvc size. we just have one 3 inch pvc, so on the second suction point use a smaller pvc and tie it into the 3inch?

It depends on how much air you need to move. Our general rule of thumb is that 2-inch piping can handle up to 35 CFM and 3-inch piping up to 70 CFM. If you have a lot of fittings or piping, they can create more friction loss, so you may want to step up to the next largest size piping.

quick question -- do you know of, or can recommend a mitigation installation company in Canada, specifically East Coast (maritime area)? I've reached out to a few but never heard back. They seem like small companies. The one guy who responded back didn't even have a company phone, lol. I have the Airthings sensors and they test radon levels (not sure how accurate they are but they have good reviews) - usually in winter i'm getting between 250-400+ Bq/m3 - i know, super high. Summer it's usually between 50-125 Bq/m3

The only Canadian contractor I know is Colin with Radon West. He's near Calgary, but he also trains mitigators, so he might know of one in your area.
