I understand wanting to start on fall knits! I am still finishing summer knits, but as soon as I cast off enough projects to feel good about buying more yarn I'll be starting on fall and winter knits! Your socks are incredible!!

Thank you! That’s probably the most sensible approach, casting off and then prepping for fall/ winter (: I’m curious to see in your next podcast what you’ll be casting on!

I'm still planning to knit vest tops to wear as layering pieces in winter. I swim in the sea all year round and wool next to the skin is the quickest way to get warm when getting changed on the beach!

Oh that's a good point! I admire people who swim all year round -- I think I'd try it too, if I ever live near the sea or close to a good l lake.

I enjoyed your video - I like the length and format. Also, very excited to see the completion of the cottage cardigan as I have been trying to decide between it and the felix cardigan. I am sure you will enjoy the color of your cottage cardigan. I made a little cardigan last year (bookshop?) in a similar color and surprisingly it goes with almost anything I wear by adding a nice pop of color to my wardrobe of dark solids. As far as seasonal knitting, I made a few fall/winter pieces earlier in the spring that I haven't worn yet - looking forward to wearing them and then I made a few summer tops of cotton and linen. I had to go back occasionally to pieces with wool fibers as a break from the cantankerous stiff linen and cotton yarns. So I have not followed the seasons very strictly, but that's ok with me as I know I will wear everything eventually. Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I'm also looking forward to wearing my Cottage cardigan, especially because the colour also leans so well into the fall colour palette. Hopefully I'll be able to show the finished object next time, maybe that helps with your decision process (although the Felix cardigan also looks very pretty). I totally understand you switching up plant fibres with wool fibres -- the latter are definitely nicer on the hands and easier tot knit with.

Another lovely video! Thanks for sharing your knitting projects, and some reading, too. I am not knitting any summer knits, I don't like the feel of a dense knitted fabric in hot summer, maybe a cardigan for layering in the morning or evening, but I already consider this a spring/autumn piece of wardrobe. However, I do enjoy knitting with wool also in summer. Currently I'm knitting Kyler shawl by Isabell Kraemer and crocheting a vest from a Japanese Knitting book. For the knit&chat episode: Do you listen to audiobooks? Which are some you like best? My favorites to listen while knitting are Agatha Christie's mysteries, also some contemporary authors like Elizabeth Strout, Emily Itami etc.

Thank you for your lovely comment ! The pattern for the kyler shawl looks really interesting, and like a good piece for layering too. I’ll note down your question for my knit and chat and will talk more about audiobooks there, but I did listen to Emily Itami’s Fault Lines and really liked it !

Your tops are lovely! I am beginning to wrap up my summer knits…I’m making a short sleeve top but in wool so it can be used in the fall, as well as a poncho(Adelaide poncho) I also miss vampires in books and anxiously await your book review. Currently reading the Paris apartment.😊❤

Thank you! And short sleeved but wool sounds like a perfect transitional piece, just like cardigans/ponchos. Are you enjoying The Paris Apartment? It's definitely still on my list (:

you were so right about beach read (it's my last henry book to read) and I love it so much already (about 70% through it and I don't want it to end!!) and I really don't know what I'm doing with my summer and autumn knitting, this is my first transitional period as I didn't knit summer pieces in my first two years as a (not yet obsessed) knitter.. just trying to clear a couple of projects off my needles and might just push my summer plans to next year - but also might cast on a cami that could be perfect for layering? :D I just want to knit more sweaters, that's always my 'problem' haha
@pagesandpurls

So happy you’ve been enjoying beach read !! And thanks for sharing the indecisiveness of this transitional period. Maybe we just need to cast on camis for layering AND a sweater and hope we get the best of both worlds 😅
