Taking the last 2 tops on this dead maple. Two important things here:
a) I always switch over to x-rings for negative rigging
b) Whenever it is an option, I will send the final top instead of rigging it.
Hope this makes sense and you can get some value out of it.

First off kudos to you on your knowledge and humble attitude it’s what I strive for in life. I’m extremely knew to this tree climbing, I’ve done concrete my entire life and have gotten bored and this is my next endeavor to learn. I just finished watching your video on broken tie in point. I trust my gear I’m relatively good with the height factor, my biggest fear being the tie in point. I’m sure you rely heavily on experience in these situations but a video on maybe size of tie in points and some different species and how that all factors would be a needed boost of confidence. I’m out of buffalo ny so we have many similar species as you. Stay safe and humble my friend you inspire more than your aware

Thanks so much Pat! I do miss these "here's what I'm doing and why" videos we used to see regularly. Learned so much from ya over the years; can't even begin to express my appreciation to you. Helluva job as always. :)

Great vid, I love that spliced ring with the eye where the tail would normally go. I attempted it with 12 strand but have a feeling 3 might be better for the application. As always, thanks for sharing.

Wow, that maple looked pretty crispy kind of spooky, I have to hand it to you a job well done!! Would you happen to know if the Bulldog bone has gone through the process of clearing it for use?
