I worked for two years doing Commercial drywalling. 12 foot sheets are great on straight walls and ceilings. Yea! One tip for you the next time you drywall a ceiling. Buildings settle and cracks form at the joints. Staggering the sheets prevent cracks from going across multiple sheets. It's a little more complex, takes a bit more time with a little more cutting. But it is worth it

My grandparents have had an off grid ranch in Arizona for 30+ years and most years they put up outside Christmas lights. No one ever told them they couldn't do something off grid. They use a diesel generator, a small solar set up, and a little wind turbine.

I've been binge watching your videos for weeks now and am finally caught up to real-time. After winning a 10-year fight with stage 4 cancer I'm at an inflection point in my life and I'm getting ready to move from Arizona to the Pacific Northwest to pursue the dreams I had before I was diagnosed in 2009. Your videos have helped me make up my mind that an off-grid property could be the best fit for me. Your videos can literally change lives. Thank you for the hours and hours of work you put into them!

Nice job cutting and installing insulation, and lifting the 12' drywall with the loaned drywall lift and then screwing the drywall into the ceiling studs. I did NOT like seeing you Riley standing on the edge of your new outdoor floor WITHOUT a railing while you lifted the lights onto the tree. Your finished work looks GREAT! Merry Christmas!

you might think about an industrial style air cleaner, with all the smoke and various types of particles you'll be releasing into the air. being in an enclosed workspace and with your living space right above you. I work in a shop where we work with nothing but metal and powder coatings... You can put a magnet on something in the shop and it's only a matter of time before it starts collecting a noticeable amount of metal particles from the air.

There is a few issues I just spotted. 1. Vapor barrier on wall the insulation comes with it already by adding the plastic you now created a second vapor barrier which can cause the wall to sweat. 2. The location of all romex wire needs to be protected from metal. Where you put the air lines also needs protection from metal. On the ends where you need to do a T to collect moisture from air compressor. Hope this helps. I do enjoy the videos y’all do.

Hi Riley, You should look into extending all your downward air lines about a foot past any connection you plan to have. Use a T fitting, in place of the L shape ones I saw in this video. Keep the straight part of the T facing towards the floor, with the turn off of the T where you want a quick disconnect or any hose reel installed. At the end of each extra foot extension, you install a drain valve that you simply open to allow any moisture to drain out of that line. You can also use a slightly large ID pipe after the T, for the drain section, if you like. This kind of shop setup will help save your air tools and provide a cheap and easy way to drain any moisture that "might' build up overtime.. All the best to you guys. Thanks for sharing your videos.

Being the oldest child I was expected to decorate trees in our front yard. We had a large 18' pinon tree (like a pine tree) and two large Yucca plants in front. It was always easier to start top of tree and go down. At the end of each plant...I was dizzy going around and around tree but it was worth it. If the strand ran out early, not big deal because you cant see the base of tree at night.

I sure will feel better for you guys when you get railings around the deck, and gravel up the driveway! And likely those two things are a priority for you too!

I'm glad that you're in contact with Marty and Julie. I just watched another channel that I watch frequently between you, Ambition Strikes, Marty and Julie, I also have Trent and Allie and Wild Wonderful Off-Grid. You 4 are my favorite homebuilders. South Main Auto Repair LLC is also a great channel for watching an amazing mechanic do his stuff. I'm bummed that I missed the meet-up this past summer, maybe next summer if you all decide on doing another. I hope you have an amazing Christmas!!!
