I vote freakishly clean. Or that clean not be considered freakish if one person likes it and is willing to do the work. I am 69 and stopped trying to blame messy people but to spend any such thoughts and efforts at doing the cleaning myself instead. It is a game changer attitude wise. The blame game is a death of one's spirit game and that is never a game ! Thanks you two. You are so awesome and your abundant progress and ambition proves it !

I was a little surprised by this weeks episode. I figured with the big bucks being spent on the excavator rental it would be more road building. But since the episodes aren't done in real time Riley and Courtney did this out of order. This system looks awesome. It could even make me organized. Well, maybe.

For those complaining about this last video being an informercial I got this off the internet. “Production of a long form infomercial (28.5 minutes) will cost between $175,000 to $450,000 on average,” said one website. Another said: “Most infomercials cost somewhere between about $25,000 and $250,000 to produce.” Cortney and Riley do this every week! Even if Levrack gave them the rack system and table for free (Guesstimated cost 15K). Levrack came out ahead sponsoring Ambition Strikes if they can use this as advertising. If Cortney and Riley got paid on top of that, more power to them. This is their life so quit criticizing. I, for one, admire what they are doing so if they have sponsors to help defray costs, I am sure they work very hard to get them. Consider this their job and remember the clever little teaser at the end of the video is meant to get you watch the next video. I know I’ll be watching next week no matter what they post.

Hey Courtney, take it from a 6'5" person who also likes to build stuff but spends a ton of time in front of a computer as my day job...don't underestimate the importance of getting a really good, ergonomic chair that fits your body and avoid slouching at all costs, as well as proper positioning of your keyboard & mouse so your wrists are in a neutral position. Ignoring such ergonomic concerns will never seem like an issue until it suddenly is, causing havoc with lower back pain and/or wrist issues. Also, I firmly believe working with your legs crossed can exacerbate the issue, as I often have done in my past, as it misaligns your lower spine over long periods of time. I only mention all of this because of the way I saw you sitting and working around t=14:04 thru 14:20, sitting very low, slouching, with your arms and hands wresting at the keyboard and mouse in a very unergonomic position, and crossing your legs as you moved between your computer and your cutter. Let's just say, these aspects of your body position looked familiar, and I speak from experience when I say that these ergonomic missteps are cumulative, and will come back to haunt you, especially with your height.

The correct phrase per Mike Rowe is "Work smarter and harder." I grew up in a household where using your mind and body were key components of a job well done. I think I get where you were going, it just bugs me how the common trope in the USA for the last ~70 years has demeaned anyone that does any sort of physical labor or trade. I'm glad I can call a plumber when the poop backs up in my house. Side note, your incinerator toilet is awesome!

Labels on that giant black tool box. It might look goofy but it saves you opening three different drawers to find things. It doesn't have to be every drawer, just enough 'sign posts' to set a rhythm.

Your channel, do what you like, personally i watch to follow your adventures and project progress. There is a balance to be found, the technical side like the solar control install - really informative, but racking? I'm never going to even see a Bulldozer let alone try and fix one, but it was great to watch - again racking? not so much!

I held my breath while watching Courtney come down the steps, from her office loft, holding Ollie. I know the steps are narrow, but you must find a way to install a handrail. That's a long flight of stairs to risk a devastating, disastrous fall. On another note, I've wondered why your bi-folding shop door seems to be untreated….it appears to be rusted. Any reasoning behind this, or am I missing something? Love your videos. JDM (not Linda)

On the hanging cabnets, make every other one's open side face the next one's so you have access to two at the same time. Also put your hardware drawers at waist height with a closed shelf over top to place hardware while getting or putting away. Your back and knees will thank you in 10 to 15 years.

When I store stuff in containers I try to get the clear ones with flat sturdy tops so you can stack them. The clear helps me find what I'm looking for along with Dymo stick on labels on the same place on each side and the lid. That way no matter which way I put it back in the stack I'm looking at a label. If it is on the floor with the lid on the label tells me what is in the bin.

Looks like Interlake pallet racking. I have about 50 leaner feet of it in my shop with 11 feet high uprights I cut out of 22' uprights I got used from a warehouse. You can put racking up by yourself if you are strong enough. Put the first upright against the end wall at a slight angle. Determine the spacing of your cros s bars, I put the first level at about 13" off of the ground so that you can shove heavy items under the bottom cross bar in the dead space. Starting in the back put the first cross bar on the bottom position on the upright that you have standing against the wall. Then put the second upright in place and using the cross bar as a lever pull the bar down, which will cause the first upright to straighten, to and then connect the cross bar to the second upright. What you now have is somewhat unstable so quickly install the first level front cross bar in place. Then install the second level back bar then the front bar. Once the first and second level are installed the section is stable. I use plywood or OSB as shelving across the cross bars with 2X3's or 2X4's as cross supports under the plywood or OSB. Most cross bars will have a notch in the inside edge which will take a 1 1/2" thick piece of wood, cut to the width of the beams inside the notch to notch, to hold the 2 by and be level with the top of the beam. Make the shelf on the second level then use it to stand on to put up the 3rd and 4th level crossbars up back to front. Make the 4th level shelf and use it to install the 5th and 6th level depending on how high you are going. The section can roll over to the side so if you can tie off the top of the uprights until you get them in place and bolted to the floor. The wider the uprights are the more stable they will be. 24" is look out below, 48" is a lot more stable. Now that you have 1 section up the next section(s) are easier and safer. Install the bottom back cross bar which should stick out straight more or less then place the next upright in place and connect the cross bar. Install the front first cross bar. Repeat the above steps as you go up. Before the installed racking gets too heavy scoot it around into its final place before installing more uprights and cross bars. Keep the uprights inline with each other and when done MAKE SURE to install good floor anchors into the upright pads sitting on the floor. The rack and contents will be heavy so use concrete anchors that go down into the concrete at least 4-6 inches depending on how high and how loaded the rack is based on the anchor manufactures recommendations. DO NOT try this at home.
