The wrapper is so dramatic and you chose the perfect place to shoot it! Can’t wait for the pumpkin patch dress reveal, it’s always one of my favourites you make each year. I’m currently making a Dorothy dress as I am determined to dress up for Halloween even if we will have no trick or treaters or events. The Swarovski skulls are adorable and I am desperately trying to think of a reason I should buy some. Thankyou for another fabulous video ❤️❤️❤️

Angela, I'm so glad you're back! Hang in there, girl. I know it's rough to create nowadays. I have a hard time writing myself. Yesterday I got so confused (post-Covid brain -- it's real!) that I wanted to sit down and cry. Then my guy told me to take a break and make some tea. And I felt better. Maybe this time is a sort of boot camp for what's to come. Maybe things will get better, maybe they'll get worse. I don't know. But the only way we're going to get through tough times is to nurture the better aspects of ourselves: courage, discipline, kindness, strength. It's NOT easy, I know, but it's a daily victory to be strong, kind, civil and brave in the face of cruelty, deceit, greed, and hatred. Small victories accrue. Don't let the bullies win by letting them affect your serenity!! That's Bully Tactics 101 and the way to fight back is to refuse to let them make you doubt and despair. What's that quote I read? "The first element of control is to make you doubt yourself." It took me my entire youth to learn that and now I'm no longer young, but damn if it ain't true! When you feel despair, take a break, make yourself a cup of tea, or go for a walk in the woods with your dog and enjoy the silence. Then get back to making beautiful things. Your videos have been very soothing and I've learned a lot about being patient from watching you sew. Right now I'm working on a 40s blouse and I just came here to watch the video in which you make shoulder pads out of something other than batting. Sorry for such a long post, but I've been meaning to share some of this with you because I suffered from depression and was a (willing) victim of bullies all my life. I overcame that so I wanted to share. Be well, girl!!

Angela, this is another great dress. I too love vintage patterns, you started me on them a couple of years ago. I may not sew them all, but I do open up the envelopes, iron out the pattern pieces, make notes on the outside of the comic envelope to which I store them in, of damages or missing pieces. I also like to fold the pieces with number of the piece on top, so pieces are easy to see. I have gathered over 300 pre owned patterns and can spend days sorting through them. I've sewn a few with recycled fabrics and am learning lots of ideas. You are a great business entity in itself, keep inspiring.

She does commissions but she mentions when they are, but for the most part they are done for her own enjoyment. Some of her creations have been turned into McCall’s patterns. Like someone else said she’s an artist and creator and I’m sure she hangs onto all (or most) of her makes. I know she’s mentioned her costume closet when she redid her sewing/bedroom a bit ago. For me personally, (I’ve made way less costumes than Angela for sure lol) I hang on to everything I make, even if I’m not going to wear it again or if I only made it for a photo. It’s like a painting or drawing-it’s finished but that doesn’t mean you get rid of it, and you hang onto it to look at it from time to time.
