Use a 12V battery for the starter, and a 6V for the coil. That will get it running ;-)

Yeah I think that’s the next plan

I always use 12v on my 6v stuff ... really whips over ...
@RACGARAGE8 ай бұрын
Yeah I usually do too but I didn’t have a 12v coil or a distributor that I could easily use one on. I’ll try harder next time 😂

You guys are all recommending using a 6v batt for the coil but if you were around for point style distributors they use a ballast resistor in the run position of the switch that steps down the voltage to the coil. It is more than acceptable to run a 6v coil with a 12v system and ballast resistor because the only time full 12v is applied is during starting. Your welcome from a "old" mechanic that actually had a paying job adjusting points with e feeler gauge or dwell meter.

Oh wow great tip! I’ll try that

What is the manufacturer of the 32 Firewalls name?
@RACGARAGE8 ай бұрын
It’s a brookville unit
@garycamara99559 ай бұрын
Thats an aftermarket firewall, not a real 32 firewall.

We know. Travis said that very thing on the first firewall episode. What is your point?
