6:16 - of course it doesn't track exactly vertical, because the top arm is shorter than the bottom. But that's what you want! It's called camber gain, and it increases negative camber on the loaded wheel on the outside of a turn. If anything I'd say you should shorten the top arms to increase that effect. But really, you ought to be analysing the geometry using some sort of suspension geometry tool -- quite a few available online. Guessing leads to unpleasant handling surprises :)

What an inspiration you are. I get hung up on projects when I make a mistake or decide on a redesign and I don't want to have to go backwards. You just plow ahead and tackle super complicated redesigns with awesome results. That inspires me to get out of my chair and back to to my workbench. Great work here and I completely don't understand why this channel isn't huge already. Keep it up.

Camber gain during compression is a good thing for cornering. Think about the chassis leaning in a corner and the outside tire compressing. It will help the outside tire have more traction.

That angle change on the front suspension looks like it will be a good thing because it will keep your tire pad in the same place true the suspension cycle there for minimizing your scrub radius! This thing is looking nice!

Based off of my Radio controlled suspension knowledge, I would be inclined to believe that having your front lower shock mount should be farther from the chassis than you currently have it would be beneficial to do. As you want to have the shock at or around 90* at full shock compression, as that is where the springs are able to exert the most force.

what you noticed with the front suspension articulation is camber gain, because the upper A arm is shorter, as the wheel moves up it becomes "shorter" quicker than the bottom longer one. For bump steer, i think you'll have a lot because the bottom A arm pivot points on the chassis are really close together. ideally you'd want them close to the tie rod articulating joint for the same reason. Like you have it now you'll for sure have toe out, how much i don't know

Awesome built mate. please add a roll hoop above your helmet. If / when you ride this thing hard you will find the roll limit. promote fabrication AND safety. A roll hoop might look goofy when you arnt in it... but when you are ripping its only 3-4" of bar behind your head. bonus points if you can push your head back against some foam pad so you are stabilised during a wheelie and coming down too hard

Love the build man and I would not run an oil tank for pre mixing the fuel as it goes into the intake because the reason they got away from that is when the oil pump that adds the oil to fuel fails there’s no way of knowing untill the motor blows up I would just premix it

For the rear differential. You could build a housing with a short chain drive inside Allowing you to have the short chain and differential in oil. Then the differential input attaches directly to the cvt. Benefits. Only needs 1 chain, the differential is in oil and it changes the input direction of the differential

Definitely should flip the lower shock mounts 180 degrees to put a little more angle on them. And with the xlt 600s if it has 4 oil lines you have to keep the oil injection because one goes strictly to the pto bearing and without the oil injection that bearing won’t get enough oil.

Is there any way you can rethink this and lower your seating position where you are looking out the front windshield? Having your head above the roof seems pretty dangerous if you roll over or it a big bump and slam your face into the roof bar. Make the suspension ride height higher and lower your seat position.

You want a limited slip probably since your off riding stuff all the time. You got a one wheel peel there buddy. If you get one wheel in the air it'll just spin free. Bummer about not using the housing it's be way easier to mount with the housing. Your clever enough to get around it I'm sure. All ya gotta do is mount the sprocket and put a coffee can over the diff full o grease. And if it does spin you can just weld it!

Normally the framing is complete before choosing appropriate shocks. I know... it's not always possible, but as best practice.... The rounded tubes in front don't look funky at all. Just needs cross triangulation and that'll be super strong. Tons of space in front (after steering) to put in oil radiator and fuel tank. Extra weight in front is a plus. Car is lookin' awesome! a bit more droop in front, but wait until weight is added, including you. :-)

So the suspension does the exact same thing as older American cars, but nowhere near as bad as anything GM ever put out... not a problem! when I built a little 1/4 midget style frame with what can only be described as Cross kart suspension, the pickup points on the chassis were square to each other, and I had 4 rose joints on the hub, (one on top of the other) to give it a natural arc, the outers were positioned at 8 degrees to give the steering the correct geometry, but as the inner tie rods were on the same plane as the inner pickup points there was no bump steer whatsoever, and the rack was as straight as possible with the wheel fully turned (not straight) and that gave much better Ackermann without introducing any bump steer. just saying as everyone has different understandings and focus on different things, mine was to have any and all camber change controlled by raising and lowering the pickups of the upper control arms, while having no other geometric influences. and using the arc of the 4 individual links to maintain the correct camber & allow of slight rearward movement under compression. It worked perfectly! was just a shame the frame was too heavy for me to push the thing on and off a trailer, so I had to go back to a light weight machine.
