I was a soldier stationed in West Germany (late 1980s when the wall was still up); a buddy of mine owned a German Super Beetle with a Porsche 911 motor and a whale tail spoiler with a ground effects body kit installed. Darn thing was an autobahn screamer! It was nicely put together because the vehicle inspections were so tough, it had to conform to German vehicle laws to be allowed on the road. The bug was shot in Porsche blue. I can appreciate what you are trying to achieve here. Good Luck!

I would like to. I dont have access to any of my cards right now though nor can I work. I was shot and my clothes, with my wallet inside, are still being held by the police as evidence. So as soon as I get that back I do plan on buying some merchandise. I been watching this channel since the beginning of the bug build. Preston is the hardest working guy on KZbin and I agree with you, he is by far the most under rated car channel on the tube.

Dude put a tone of work into that BUG. So many layers of paint and imperfections on that body. IN the 70's we had a 60's VW turned it into a Baja bug to race the florida beaches (pre tourist florida). What motor is she getting?

you can get a grey spray filler that puff up and fill the sanding patterns and the eggs "those round spots you sanded tru" easy to sand and give a good canvas for a smooth look. add 1 drop of black to a thin finish layer and you have a tracer to sand after like when using graphite dust. good for rough projects where you used agressive sandpaper. dont remember the name since its 10 years since i worked with it.

It looks awesome. Love that you are not trying to hide all the fabrication behind cover panels and instead incorporate it into the final design. Regarding the trailer: One option could be to buy a run down caravan trailer and take the top of.. you get a good base with brakes and registration. It's a common way of going it cheap in Sweden where I live.

I really think you are making the right call on this one. Yes you want a good looking car but you was never building a show car, it's a race car and that's what I would like to see. Great thing about black on a modded car, it looks mean and imperfections only make it meaner looking. Personally I love seeing some of peoples handy work shining through on a wildly modified car

Can't wait to see the bug ripping! I have always loved those cars since I was a little kid. I am from Los Angeles so there were quite a few of them that were hooked up as lowriders and beach buggies and some built for the desert. They have always found really cool ways of making them unique.

Most of the original panels on the cat have a rounded edge so I think the only issue with the front end is the top of where the headlights mount needs a rounded edge

I know I keep saying it, but every video gets me a bit more stoked to see the end result. The best part is how it keeps shifting as it goes. The way the front turned out is so original, and the back looks way more badass than I had envisioned. This project is "The Usual Suspects" of KZbin. Keep up the great work.

You only need that duraglass for first coat on metal then use rage filler sanding that glass is way to much work and filler also fills better with primer the glass has way more pinholes. Using a glaze filler for finishfill your primer will go farther and it sands way better with finer paper

Hey, on your hydrodips, you should embed a simple small business logo, hidden in the job... Just sayin (could make a stencil and spritz it with a little black paint, just like when you correct stuff afterwards). It's like signing your artwork.. Probably not the RV carbon fiber stuff, just the intakes, since they will be at events.

Like you said, It's not a show car...lol. I would worry more about function instead of form. About the paint, use that rhino/raptor bed liner stuff...that will hide a lot of the bad spots...lol. It sucks that money is so tight for you...wish I could help, other then just watching your vid's...money is super tight for me too. I'll keep on watching & I'll keep you in my prayers too. It looks sick as is. Louvres on the rear window, with the split in the middle? I also imagined it in bare metal with some patina. Black made me think of Mad Max and Batman. Awesome job!
