5/7/23; Warren, am no a mechanic, but much enjoy learning how repairs on hvyduty engines, dozer tracks, hydraulic cylinders, transmissions...& many other components should be repaired correctly. You are 'the man' to get to repair soo many hvyduty pieces of equipment. Love your stories as you walk & talk we armchair viewers through layers of details, tolerances, oil pressures & sounds...its amazing that you soo easily transition from large ag tractors stalled/'frozen' in their malfunction mid field location..then video splice to yur (crowded) shop to begin...or continue on another tear down which you have done many times earlier in your csreer. It's always enjoyable & educational to watch & listen while you work! Stay safe. Carry on, demand your money in safest format for you, like certified check or big hunk of cash. You earn every penny! Take care!⚙️🔧👍👍👏👏👷😊

The way I do those N14 jakes is with a dial indicator. You set the indicator up right on top of the adjuster screw with the screw bottomed out and use an open end wrench to back it off watching the indicator then lock it down. It's way easier than fumbling around that Jake hat with a feeler gauge.

In my career I always tend to make the same kinds of mistakes. As a result I double, sometimes triple check that work and will often catch the same bone headed mistakes I tend to make so the quality of work I turn out is pretty good. Not bragging because I make mistakes like anyone, I just don't trust myself regarding paying close enough attention to some things I do. Having said that I think I would make a regular practice after finishing up adjusting valve lash to go back through and check each one again before buttoning it up. Saves time in the long run. It also provides the comfort that you know it's right because you checked every one of them. Making mistakes is understandable when a guy like you who is in high demand has so many things on his plate at once and weighing on your mine. It's a distraction from concentration.

Great video as always, and you show thing's that other's would delete, because it's gotta be perfect. I like how you do thing's, because if something goes wrong, you catch it, and fix it. Taking time to be thorough is the only way, because it'll save you trouble later. The older you get, the more experience you have, and at 52, i'd rather be safe like you and double check everything. G-d bless.

Warren....next time you do a set of cam bearings on any 855 series here's another quick reference for clocking your bearings. If you look at a cam bearing you'll notice the puzzle joint on them...I've found those are at exactly 12 o'clock in the block bore. it's kind of hard to do on this current cam job you're doing but if you're doing an "out of frame" or "in frame" OH with cam it's really easy to look down from the top end..... that joint at 12 high and when installed at proper depth all your oil holes line up. I used to verify my oil holes with a 90 degree o ring pick to be 100 percent sure

I would never warranty something that I can clearly see will break. If the customer wants to only fix half of the problem then it would be bad business to put your self in a situation where you know its going to break and your going to be on the hook. Iv seen you own up to your mistakes and warranty something that is worthy but if their cheap and don't fix the root of the problem that shouldn't be on you. Thank for always shooting straight and keep up the work.

Your commentary sounds just like me 😂 I work on small engines and people do the same thing. One guy said his mower wouldn’t run good, was blowing white smoke out the exhaust and over revving and insisted to me the muffler was bad. Obviously it wasn’t… someone left the spark plug halfway unthreaded and had jerry rigged the governor linkage and had come loose. People man… they’re something else. Love your videos. Always been fascinated with big trucks.

I agree with getting paid before the truck leaves. I have learned that I cannot do something half a&$ed or it always bites me. I know guys that can put used parts and hammer it together with an impact and it will work fine. If I try to cut any corners, it will die on startup. I really appreciate your Videos and your commentary is on point. Thanks, Warren.
