You never cease to amaze me, and I suspect others too, with your sense of determination and dedication to your craft. My admiration for you continues and my interest never wavers. Warren, you are such an inspiration to me. I am seventy years old, have seen a bit of life, met a few impressive souls, and you rank around the top of the pile in so may ways. I hope some of those with the majority of their working lives still in front of them are fortunate enough to happen upon this wonderful series of tutorials you put forth for viewing. Thank you, Sir.

Warren,I want to thank you for your dedication and service for helping with the fire efforts.Without people like you doing whatever it takes to get the equipment back going so these men & women can get back to fighting the fires,it would definitely be a worse situation then what it is.You are as important as they are.

Nice video! I like seeing your awesome adventures. When I first started in the Gas compression industry as a young lad, my very first Job went from a simple oil change and service on a Waukesha engine, to a complete gong show. I got assigned the task to swab out the crank case and found literal piles of metal in there! We ended up being on that location for 4 days straight, with maybe 5 hrs sleep in total. It was a heck of a way to get introduced to being a Gas mechanic. It never got much better after that, Always crazy long days and very little time off, but had a blast anyway!

To hell with the naysayer's, Warren. Live your life to the fullest, hoss. You're making a living and providing for your family so don't sweat the idiots and their questions. I've spent the last 17yrs in a wheelchair after a bad wreck and I'd give anything to be out there getting after it. Used to drive a bull rack and diesel mechanic in my spare time. It can all be gone in the blink of an eye so do what you want and let the jealous bunch pound sand. Hahaha... Love the videos.

Love your videos!! Two cents worth of really cheap advice, when dealing with those plug in relay mountings, always suspect the connection to the blade terminal itself as sometimes when they make up the connections at the factory, they only catch the insulation firmly and have intermittent connection to the conductor. They test good and then go open during use. I've found several of those in my career, never trust the contact connections also, they tend to loosen from current flow voltage drop. Best luck in your business,, keep up the videos please. Thanks a bunch.

Interesting as all get out. Man your about as hard core as the come, driving hours to the middle of nowhere then working through the night to get a dozer working to help fight the fires, California needs to give you a medal of something not many would do what you do day or night.
@archstanton92064 жыл бұрын
Yes sir, it was interesting, thanks for taking us along. I won't swear to it but I believe the E number on your windshield will get you where you need to go. It has been a few years, but they can run that number and confirm it is you, and let you roll. Thanks for doing what you do, it has been one smoky summer here in the Sierras.

Reminds me of my youth.. we knew every logging road with in 100 miles of Eugene Oregon and more roads beyond that distance.. Always had great fun driving and exploring those forests and canyons... Thanks for takeing me on this trip.. the fires up north here were bad this year also.. But at least ours are mostly out now.. be safe, have fun and carry on!

i enjoyed seeing you work on the dozer as well as the driving Warren keep posting videos like this if you could of detail work honestly ill be real watching your videos teaches a lot , its bassicly hands on expernice an i enjoy it i learn a little in every video . The jumper wire soultion was honestly teaching many people it doesnt have to be perfect just has to work till it can be properly fixed :) most people would fix it by the book not you , you do the best you can for the client . he needed it runing for the fire later he can get it fixed properly !

Hey Warren, you are unequaled! Could you go over how you charged for that service call? Obviously, not using your real numbers but you had highway travel time, extensive off road time, lengthy after hours time, etc., etc. It would be very educational for many including myself. Thank you

Isn't it great how they take the key?? I ran service on 2 million dollar MR's. They would want it fixed now but would have it locked up so tight I would carry a bolt cutters to fight to get to the equipment. Then bitch about the cost. I don't miss it. Kudos for you for making it work in spite of the roadblocks. I drove 4 hours in the fog(usually 1 hour) to replace a stupid bulb so the operator could see better. In the middle of the night!! nutz
