Great video as usual, i only recently learned what a hinge is, i had an idea about what it was but i only now learned that it can be a permanent weak point of a bow rather than just an inbalanced tiller (a bad tiller cemented into a bow semi perminently if you will) . It only took me 3 smashed ash staves to learn😅, i learned that ash really doesnt tolerate bad tiller as supposed to woods like hickory . I have two questions if you dont mind me asking. First is, how you prevent a hinge from developing in a bow. Second, i hopefully should have my first yew stave coming in from america, do you think i could get a 74 inch yew stave to draw to 31 to 32 inches ( Full compass) or would it be too risky? Do you have any videos on full compass tillering?

Hi, practice is what helps prevent any tillering issue, a `hinge` is juts an area where you hvae taken away too much wood or an naturally weaker part of the wood in the stave. Taking things slowly is the best approach. Personaly I wouldent make a bow to draw to above 29-30" at that length.

I see that during the final tillering the pulley is still moving from right to left. Is that due to using a different string for tillering?

No, the top limb is longer than the bottom.
