Miyako is the next Michael Romeo. She knows what works, and how to make everything fit together musically. Her workflow is amazing. She has such a solid music theory foundation. She doesn't have to hunt and peck, she instinctively knows what to play. She just plays it, and adds it to the composition. This song is really good, I would like to see it finished one day.

What's crazy about this is that it's a throwaway song, written purely for the purposes of showing her processes, yet every time I watch it in anything, I get the melody stuck in my head!

I think Miyako is one of those people who are their own biggest critic. She always seems to be striving to do better and is never completely happy with the results. This is of course what makes her so very good at her craft. She is a perfectionist. A small personal extra. Miyako posted this video on YT just a few days before Lovebites flew to London to start their European tour. At the first gig at the New Cross Inn in London, I got to meet the band after the concert and stood alongside Miyako and exchanged a few words with her. It seems almost like a dream now, but it is a memory this old grey haired rocker will cherish.

I did it 5 times yet all 5 blurred into a single second in my memory. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Miyako knocking on for a dozen times in total, enough for her to greet me as an acquaintance more recently. She is utterly charming, gracious, extremely thoughtful and empathetic, and gives off an aura of almost unflappable calm. The only human I admire more is Asami…🙂

Maybe one day we'll get to watch a documentary when a demo like this one will be presented to the rest of the band and if they decide to go ahead with it, then show the process of the entire band arranging their respective parts and how they mix it into a whole song.

That would be awesome. Bands usually don't show how they write and record stuff. It's an industry secret. They also won't tell you where they steal ideas from, but sometimes it's kinda obvious. 😉

Thanks for the reaction. Information for The Gringa. Perhaps this will be interesting to you. On Miyako's KZbin channel there is a video of her visiting a beauty salon: - HAIR ISM / Finally cutting my hyper-long hair!! (December 14, 2023). The description of the video contains links to the salon that Miyako has been visiting for the past 5 years and to a store with hair products. During the procedure, some hair products are named that the hairdresser uses to work with Miyako's hair. There is another video on the channel that Miyako posted on October 20, 2023 - LOVEBITES tour is finished and makeup video. Information for Tequila Jimmy and The Gringa. LOVEBITES has several examples of their songs appearing on their Albums several years after Miyako or other members of the band composed and recorded the melodies for these songs: 'When Destinies Align', 'Signs of Deliverance', 'Dancing with the Devil', 'Soldier Stands Solitarily', ect. It is quite possible that a full-length song will be created based on the melody that Miyako composed, and we will hear it in one of LOVEBITES' future Albums.

PS If La Gringa is learning scales but wants to enjoy it more 🤣 I suggest watching a backing track on YT that has the whole fretboard on it with the scale marked (a guy named Tom Bailey Backing Tracks does a few a week using that format) and playing along just using the scales. It's a way to feel you're actually playing - and of course Jimmy can play along using chords for a duet! Which we'd love to see!

I think this song later was made into one of their most recent videos. But don't quote me on it. The reason why Japanese lady's hair and skin looks so good. They use more natural products, not loaded with a ton of chemicals like they do in the west. Theres a video of her on vacation in Okinawa with some friends. I actually met her there. Got a nice photo with her. Very nice lady, saw me wearing one of their tees. She's actually very funny and smiles a lot on her own time.

Fun fact... in one of their first videos interviews they ever did, Miyako said that she only writes in the Pentatonic Scale at that particular time - which only had been their first album. =) So Gringa was correct! lol

I’ve always imagined that the theme tune to her channel is her own work if for no other reason than she would have copyright issues that she doesn’t need. I’m not sure what the comment you saw actually said, but neither tune, in my opinion, will be on Spotify (as she confirmed for the demo). What I think would be really cool is if the band has already decided to include the demo, or a reworking of the demo, in a future release. If any band would capitalise on the promotional potential of that, as well as the interest they know it would generate in their fan base, it’s LOVEBITES. Just one minor thing Jimmy, non musician that I am, but I’m pretty certain obligatto is Italian not Spanish (as with other musical terms such as legato, contralto, vibrato, falsetto, etc). Great reaction nevertheless. Miyako will be standing in front of me in 18 days time. Can’t wait.

We don't know, how many demos have taken the path of this one! We know, that e.g. "Just A Liar" was recycled to "Liar", but based on the quality of LOVEBITES' output (no filler, no weak song), many of them found the way to the dust bin.
