Nice work. Save your arm when forming over a block by using a larger dead blow hammer.

Yeah that's probably a good idea. I don't have one here at the moment that would work good with sheet metal.

Yoo, Brian!! Great work!! Fits like a glove. I know you are excited that the roof is the only big section of rust left to repair. You are right the bead rolling would have been cool but how you done it turned out sweet! Keep checking things off ✔️ the list bro!!

Yeah man I just can't wait until this thing is off the rotisserie permanently. It's not too far off.

Hey looks great. Others have mentioned putting a bigger tank in. Might not be a bad idea in the future if you need it. That being said tou solution really does look great

I thought I'd like to keep it simple for now. Plans can always change though.

Since the tub is removed, I would consider a more normal shaped fuel tank that is larger than the original, especially with the thirsty 2jz. Jmho. I think that is what I'm gonna do to mine.

I don't think the volume of this gas tank will be too bad. Looks like the 280z tank is about 17.5 gallons. The 240z gas tank is smaller. But maybe in the future I'll decide to go a different direction.

My thoughts are cut out the existing structure. Weld in some rectangle tubing for support side and front to back. The tack in cover sheet metal. Seems like a lot of work to build sheet metal where tubing could be used. What are your thoughts B? Great job as always just trying to think about options.
@BLOKgarage4 ай бұрын
Rectangle tubing definitely would have been quicker.

So where are you going to keep the spare tire?
@BLOKgarage4 ай бұрын
I'm not. I'll throw in a 12v air compressor and tire plug kit like I did in my vettes.

I'm honestly running out of shirts from all the welding and cutting making holes in them 😆

Several times I have pulled tanks and the "rubber" protector was junked or gone. Easy solution..... Go buy a bicycle innertube.
