My 632ci Big Block Chevy Nitrous Engine is Trashed!

I made a movie! For Episode 273 of Mike Finnegan's Garage we chopped this footage down to two-plus hours and it is still just barely enough time to convey the rollercoaster of emotions my friends and I experienced during a weekend of racing. It began with the transmission in the ramp truck blowing up. We broke the input shaft and smoked the Third gear clutch while towing our all-steel 30ft trailer with the dragboat inside and a Kawasaki Mule UTV on the back of the Chevy Squarebody ramp truck. When we finally arrived at Wildhorse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona, things went from bad to worse as everything under the sun fought us as we desperately tried to stay in competition. In the end we had fun and made memories but it wasn't easy!

I was so stoked to see that in the video. I didn’t even know the drone was over me. Funny story: the drone crashed in the lake and the NJBA rescue divers retrieved it the next day. Lol

Epic film. So well done. I particularly like the part in the film where you're on the ramp getting ready to launch your boat and some guy is praying with you. I think he did that with all the racers. You could have cut that out but you didn't. Way to go Mike! I was a mechanic for FedEx for over 30 years. I've been a pastor for the last 2 years and I know about the necessity of prayer, especially in the days in which we live. Fan for life Mike. Keep up the good work. (make sure you rest up, too)

you make me remember in the late 70s before my father had his Baja's with the 175 merc we used to listen to the Sounds of the big drag boat Album on the stereo . I can still remember what the album looked like with the drag boats at the start line on the cover . My Fathers gone but i still have the Memory's he loved his boats . my fastest 78mph in his boat 19" Cush craft 175merc . he wouldn't let me take his boat unless i walked to the gas station and carried back 2 red steel boat tanks filled . maybe 15 years old . The good old Days.

It's me again, who asks hubby questions when we watch you❤ Its just fun learning & bugging hubby. My Dad87 (Sully) has a 73' Nordic 455(proud custom boat owner) Oldsmobile with Berkeley outdrive. Had the Chevy Cheyenne with matching camper special, avocado green pickup. The boat about green with lime yellow? Name on boat offensive now but then meant leader. My parents were Colorado River rats, we camped on shore with boat & all toys in 70's then upgraded in 80's to end spot permanent Trailer Fun times. My cool parents would take us to Irwindale? Boat racing in California. Mom has some good memories still. My Dad passed thursday, love all your boat, jet ski videos They bring back awesome memories❤ no sad feelings please. Sully had a good long life! I just wish we talked more about the good ones, elderly parents when they were here. You make me/hubby laugh&entertain us❤ It's still in the garage, dad had cut a small square for Berkey to get that dam door shut in 73' of course made a cover back of garage😂😅❤ Boat maybe for sell? No stress, Dad is my angel😇

I love longer videos, especially these days when most content is geared to be less than 15 minutes. Longer videos allow more "investment" in what is going on. This was awesome - good job and thanks to everyone involved in the racing and the production. I really need to get out to this race since this track is local to me. Out of all the adversity and FUBAR that seemed to plague your weekend, I'm glad you and your team stuck with it, major props to the racers that offered parts to keep you at the lake. Although you didn't beat the guy who loaned you the motor, it was probably a good thing. Otherwise, nobody would want to loan you something to beat them with.
