Agreed! But they are super rare to find in good condition. Matt from Beaver creek woodcraft has a method of procuring them, might want to check with him if you are interesting in owning a finnish axe. His prices all things considered are great for the quality of craftsmanship.

You NEVER carry an axe with the blade facing front! Even with a sheath.

Hey bud, could you clarify your reasoning for this statement? I really fail to see how the direction of the bit could matter when its slung across the body? Could you also explain to me how even a razor sharp axe, such as this one, can cut through a solid 12 oz leather welt and 1/8" copper rivets by pure accident?
