Travis Ginther I'm a local Cebuano and the last 2-3 years of Sinulog is way more coordinated and peaceful compared before. Back then was utter chaos because every establishments are allowed to have their own street party unlike today.

i remember 20 years ago sinulog was a lot crazier. BBQ in middle of jones avenue, speakers as huge as a pickup truc are everywhere, band concerts every night for 3 weeks. henna tattoo and paint party everywhere, beer stalls everywhere, and drunk people everywhere too.hehe

C) Historical accounts say that before Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan came to Cebu on April 7, 1521 to plant the cross on its shore and claim the country for the King of Spain, Sinulog was already danced by the natives in honor of their wooden idols and anitos. Then Magellan came and introduced Christianity.
