Sir, you read a lot of books. May I ask, at what time do you usually read, and how do you get into the mood for reading consistently?

Don't know why sir but youve been missing my questions since last 2 sessions. Here are my 2 wuestions 1. Sir like you said to read curriculum, but it may not be possible now to read the whole curriculum, can you please list some important chapters or topics that are a must read for Level 2. 2. Sir like you always say that we should prefer a good boss over a good company/salary. But the problem is we don't know how our boss will behave with us. Like how can we determine that in a 15 minute interview

Please do not alter the video format. In the last two videos, you selected some questions from the previous video and some from the live session, resulting in a few questions from previous videos being overlooked.

🚨🆘🛑 I attempted for CFA level 1 with the help of education loan in Feb'24 but not able clear it due to lack of preparation and guidance (only youtube videos and SchweserNotes). Currently working with Vodafone idea in P2P entry level job have 2.5 years of experience(not seeing growth on current role). 1). I'm 23, trying to move in core finance and equity market job and learning about valuation and financial modeling. How can I shift job and what kind of skills should I have to get a job in equity research/hedge fund analyst/investment banking? 2). Do I need to re attempt for CFA to get a job in this sector or will I get with some certificates of NISM? 3). Can I earn through freelancing if I learn proper valuation/financial modeling?

Hi Utkarsh, thanks a lot for this amazing sessions. They add real value. Question: My previous Treasurer left the company, have new treasurer with whom I gell well (very knowledgeable person, CFA - MBA both) he appreciates the work and I am in negotiation phase for Salary Hike. Also we have had discussions on how he sees me in next 5 years becoming Senior Manager. Meanwhile had discussions with M&A head in our company and he might be interested to add me in the M&A team. Still lot to learn in Treasury (in terms of Hedging strategies, Liquidity models etc). Should grow in Treasury domain or take a chance and move to M&A.

I’m an L2 candidate (Attempt in Nov ’24, age 22) with 15 months of delta hedging experience. I want to switch to investment banking or fund management, but I’m confused between the both. Can I delay this decision by taking a common job like sell-side equity research? Should it be a small sized/boutique firm?

Hi, 35 yrs old, worked 4yrs in fixed income (9 yrs total work ex), also CFA + FRM, due to no growth I switched, working as business analyst in IT (last 4 yrs). Pay is really good but I hate my work. I feel guilty because unlike others I m not working in core finance, financial modelling I tried learning but again did not find it interesting), because of my age I know, cannot transition to other core finance roles like portfolio management etc, I am not very creative so I doubt if product management will work for me..what are my options according to you?

Hello Utkarsh Sir, I recently completed my Level 1 exam on Tuesday. Before that, I worked as an equity dealer for a year and left my job in July to prepare for the exam. I have two questions: 1) My previous salary was 3 LPA plus 1 L in variable incentives. In my upcoming interviews, is it reasonable to request a salary hike based on 4 LPA or should I consider 3 LPA as the base? ( incentives is only mentioned in pay slip ) 2) I took a 3-4 month break for exam preparation. Could you suggest a strong justification for this gap that I can provide during interviews?

Hello sir, I'm currently in CA Inter and my attempt is in May 2025. I've slowly been losing interest in CA and I wanna switch to attempt CFA L1 because I'm interested in core finance and not just accounting and taxation. Do you think I should leave CA and pursue CFA? Also will CFA L1 be enough along with my Bcom to get a job?

Hiii Sir, as you said I'm looking for job/internship but not getting any opportunities. Bcom graduate 2022 worked as accounts executive till oct 2023(1yr) left job for CFA level 1 prep this year & ended up deferring it, don't want to waste time is it too late. I want to get into Equity Research/Private Equity or is there any other good field I can look and what are the most important skills I can work on.
