Love your videos very detailed. Do you have the video of where you disconnected VRO. From the start? Like disconnecting, electrical, etc.

The way you mounted the new pump is brilliant so all the hoses match up. The pump is meant to be mounted directly on the engine, near your fuel filter (where it says "5/16 on the fuel hose). The way you mounted it is much better and a lot less trouble. I don't own a Johnson outboard, I don't own a boat but your vids are very interesting.

I know where the 2 fuel lines run on the fuel pump but where does that 3rd vacuum line run to?

Do you have to block off where oil used to be pumped into the motor?
@aktamano2 жыл бұрын
you should use the right pump what has only two connections and it has the factory space on the side of the motor next to the starter and no need that console and no need the pulse hose.

I’m about to do this to my 1989 Johnson 120v4. I just done like the idea of the pump possibly going bad and hurting the outboard.

Good work GM! A bit of a challenge I'm sure, but you likely have saved many thousands $$ vs new! ( and the 4 stroke outboards are not all that great as they want everyone to believe! )

Did you locktite those nuts? I could see them vibrating off at the worst time.

No maybe i should

@@Gigmaster If you decide to do it they make a Marine locktite. Good job on the new boat so far.

Dude, I'm trying to do this conversion myself but I think you skipped some stuff. Like how is the pump driven? Isn't the middle hole between the 2 mount holes for the "Pulse" signal coming from the engine? Also what is the 3rd nipple on the pump for???
@Gigmaster3 жыл бұрын
It is vacuum driven.
@MaxAC3 жыл бұрын
@@Gigmaster Right on, where did you hook the vacuum to on the pump?
@Gigmaster3 жыл бұрын
Should be on the pump diagram but you could suck on the fittings and figure it out. Lol, gas line will have a flow in one direction.

Pump needs pulses from engine. I think there is a spot on engine to mount it.
@ct1762 Жыл бұрын
you do realize you just block off the pulse nipple for the vro with a 1/8 npt plug, then hook up the fuel pump to the port side of the block just underneath the flywheel right? its a factory installed port. why not use it?

Your going to be screwing with that engine all the time. Its 22 years old and god knows how many hours on it. Get a trouble free new engine so you can enjoy your time instead of screwing with an old engine.
