So glad this video is back on line. Fiona, Karen and some of the best musicians on the planet! Fantastic!

Even if you don't speak gaelic, you can't fail to be moved by the wonderful voices of these two ladies. Nice to see the musicians smiling and obviously relishing the music.

I don't understand gaelic, but the voices and the delivery leaves me spellbound. It's so nice to see people singing from the heart with no theatrics.

I remember Fiona Kennedy when she was about twelve on the BBC children's drama, "The Witch's Daughter", singing "Dream Angus" in the Gaelic. I still have the recording. Wonderful!!

If there truly is balance in the universe, I reckon that somewhere there are two women who are homely, and can't sing worth anything. I'll just sit here, meanwhile, and enjoy two who are superb in both ways.

It sounds lovely. Does anyone know where I can find an english translation of the lyric? I'd really love to know what this song's about, and I'm afraid I don't know a work of Gaelic. -jcr

@DasHearach , Thanks for the kind words. I'm a bit annoyed that the "owner" of some of Karn Matheson's videos has withdrawn them from UT. Thanks again,

Thanks, Tom! I saw Altan perform this same song. Beautiful then; beautiful now! (This is a children's lullaby, right?)

This is a song from Skye, where a young man goes off to Ireland and leaves his love behind, while he enjoys the girls in Ireland

Careful. If you pass out, you won't hear the song! ;-) -jcr

It comes up in the actual video though, maybe that's why tomtscotland didn't put it in. "Nach Truagh Leat Mi Stun Eirinn" - I'd translate that as "Don't Pity Me While You're In Ireland."
