With the same logic all strategy games suck, just because in every single game you do the same things.. build, send workers to harvest etc... People like Warcraft 3 only because heroes exist. Heroes are overpowered units, they have abilities and they are reliable. A hero is actually a unit worth saving, microing.. a unit which stands out. SC2 is about pointless units attacking each other. You will probably see the upper/lower grounds when wc4 is released.

This is back when games required 100% real skills, most games came out because people wanted a challenge, making the games as good as possible with high skill as possible. Today, you have iphone games and LoL, COD and everything so casual it almost gives me cancer. Only have starcraft 2, dota2 and CSGO atm, and that's way too little. WC4 PLS!

the shockwave from the tc hitting the demonhunter through the trees was real nice and when the druid changes to crow avoiding the shockwave near the end was really good timing

Dude I didn't say that SC2 requires NO micro at all. I said that if you compare the micro of those 2 games wc3 micro would be 100 and SC2 5. But my original post is saying that if you compare the skill which is a hell lot of things wc3 requires MORE skill by FAAAAARRRR in comparison to SC2. If SC2 was a bit more low paced then the needed skill would increase, because it would be possible to save units and get better position before your units die. However its current status requires very little.

I've seen many games back in 2003 and what drew me to play,it was wc3 and iaddicted to it before i even play it. All games lack here and there, but wc3 has it all,most important SKILL. Lol, dota hon and aos general are games for low brainers who can control only 1 unit and sc2 is for rts wannabees who only can mass units (except former wc3 pro players who micro in this shit game canT believe it!) Wc3 is the BEST game and i intend to play it till theres only 1 player playing or BNet closes or wc4

Okay, so you're saying because sc2 is so fast, it is impossible to save units from being overwhelmed without your notice? Well not really, because if you have actually played sc2 competitively you understand a HUGE part of it is map awareness. When you see them coming you have a few moments of preparation in order to save them and prepare for a real combat. Wc3 and Sc2 just require DIFFERENT micro, one does not require more skill, as you put it

Sigh, i really missed the boat with warcraft 3.. When the game and expansion were released i didn't have good internet so i never played multiplayer online :( And now, its only used for dota.. Sigh, its really a shame because as a dota and starcraft 2 player i have to say warcraft 3 took by far the most macro (combination of MOBA and RTS = insanity micro). Really hoping blizz will release warcraft 4 sometime so i can own some scrubs online :)

i remember when i was probally in the first grade and my brother showed me wc3 and i tried it and i remember making him come to my room when he had friends and help me haha.. Ahh.. good times.. i played until theend of 7nth grade warcraft and i i don't remember my childhood without this game.. and now i'm just hoping that there will be wc4 but until then i will probally finish University (i'm 10nth grade now) :)

@HyPeR0HaSHI There's melee on SC too, I really don't see how can you not understand... even after watching the video, which shows not only melee microing. But yeah, the melee microing (as seen when blademaster takes down the human hero when clearly outnumbered) is pretty much avoiding enemy attacks while yours is on a "timer"... Let's say you attack once per second: you attack, run back to avoid enemy attacks and approach after one second.

Its our job to keep it alive, the ones that play the game... to leave the game cause someone else left is to kill it, to stay and promote it as much as you can to make people return/get new people intrested is to keep it alive. so stop crying about wc3 dying and do your best to keep it alive, on forums, websites, irl, lan´s etc etc. promote our beloved game as much as you can.

micro-managment mean to manage details of a system. in a game like warcraft, it mean manage every move of a unit, instead of letting her auto-attack it's opposed to macro-managment, which mean manage the general organisation of a system (the president of a country does only macro-managment). in a game like warcraft, it mean managing the economy, the number buildings, the placement of units, etc

If you read my post, you would notice that I said about half of these were luck, which is true. Then I stated that most of the remaining clips are just mediocre at best. That still leaves (give or take) 10% of the video unaccounted for. There were some very impressive things in this video, but most of it was just filler from average players. If it were shortened to about one minute then the title would do this video justice, as everything in it would be "Excellent Micro."

Saying Sc2 does not require micro is BS. If you think that you clearly have not played enough. They both have different styles of micro, due to the specifics of their respective games. Wc3 takes extreme unit positioning, care, and hero control, sc2 takes quick reactions, fast mouse accuracy, and multitasking.

@TheMusicBRASIL Actually, a bm in ww can run through units and therefore cannot be trapped. The whole point of that manoeuvre was that the orc player wanted the item dropped by the creep and hence wwed his bm in. However, it was revealed by dust, but the bm cleverly hovered over the creep and hence was extremely hard to target (the other player still managed it, though).

also ive read a few comments on people saying 'they just teleport away' if i remember rightly a scroll of town portal is 350 gold, so for example when the orc traps the dk in the base with the ward he was forced to use a 350 gold scroll just to kill a 200 gold grunt so its an economic win for the orc, hard to understand if you don't play the game

0:38 - 0:45, Bladmaster kills Archmage based on purely luck, otherwise he's already dead. But this vid demonstrated somewhat really good moves :) While Dota requires a co-operative spirit, melee game requires a steel + solid psychology to face such zero-sum game pressure. Dota is tempting, but melee games still rule !

To those that did not notice what happens at the very start with the TC and the wave on the wisps... The nelf actually detonates all the wisps 0.1 sec before the wave hits them, this denying the xp.. that is insane speed considering that detonate isnt an instant command, but you have to click where the wisp is to detonate.. Didnt notice before now, but its insane.

yes ofc that too, but if u can use shift, it makes control units easyer, like an ex. lets say ur fiend getting focused by grunts, u just click fast path it should follow, instead of spam click, it makes extra time so u can control ur other units.. sorry for my bad english ;D

nice video, altough i think that the second song doesnt really fit into it. btw if you are still making wc3 vids, take advantage of a program called Simple Camera(google it, i found it in a dota forum). it alloaws you to move the camera in replays completly individual :)

2:38 is just insanly fast micro...^^ He has a staff of teleportation on both of his heros. And he staffed both archers immediately befor the wave reached them...

You can't be serious with that comment. WC3 requires both of those attributes and so much more. League of legends requires some skill, but not nearly as much as WC3. It's one of the best games ever made in terms of skill.

@kenobi133 Coil got casted at the same time the hero got staffed back. resulting in a coil that can reach anywhere, but will not do damage. elf player did see the animation on Death knight so thats why he staff so fast.

@BlackAbsinth3 It's an item his other hero (Beastmaster) used on him. Staff of Preservation. Teleports a friendly unit to your highest lvl. workerproducing building i believe. Or perhaps the oldest. Not 100% sure.

you cant block shockwave but it has a unit cap and maybe placing the tower reached the cap so the am didnt get hit, dunno.
