I love the responsiveness of the system. There was no noticeable lag in the system. Edward: What Fire? Bet I got this. Notifier: Ohh? fire? Ok hold on, let me find out where and I'll sound the horns.

I kinda like the sound that buzzer on the front door annunciator panel made. It really gives that old panel some personality. The buzzer on the main panel sounds like it's crying for mercy, though...

Kinda a sad day, this was a system I really enjoyed. None the less some great memories here and wouldn’t it be just awesome if you could keep the annunciator once they replace it. That and some 70’s Durabels

i remember my old elementary school in stony plain Alberta i went there from 1997 to 1999 it had a similer system like this it did have mix of Edwards 439d but instead of mb10,24's it was wheelock bells and a couple of Edwards 6 inch bells hanging around but from what i heard it was replaced by new adressable devices during modernization and expansion but i dont know what the new devices are though

@thetoffeetable8 ай бұрын
Thanks for another excellent video. Good thing you're replacing that system soon. The panel and annunciator piezo sounds horrible. Question, do you think you could ever get permission to actually pull the alarm for one of the fire drills instead of just opening it and flipping the switch? That would be cool to see even if you remove the glass rod first to avoid wasting it.
@nics-systems-electric8 ай бұрын
Thanks. The piezo sounds different because it isn't really one but it's a buzzer so they do sound different. I think I have removed the glass in the past if I've felt like it. It just takes a bit longer to put back together before walking around.
@mikeross8808 ай бұрын
The sounders in the panel and annunciator are the exact same Edwards horns that Honeywell used as the alarm component in their TC49A household smoke detectors (The AC powered types) between 1974-1977. If you look up Honeywell TC49A smoke across KZbin you will see several demo videos of them and you’ll know what I mean.
