It was a true blessing that Samaritan's Purse is headquartered in Boone, NC allowing them to be right near where most of the help was needed for so many counties and other states affected by the Helene floods. Samaritan's Purse was also very lucky they were not in the area devastation. I'm sure God played a hand in that part!! They truly are an organization that has been there for so many other disasters across the U.S. Thank you for sharing the Fire Chief's personal story, it hits home for so many. Continued prayers for all those affected by this terrible storm!

Been working down here since the storm. Thank you samaritans purse, Franklin graham, Donald Trump jr, and Kristi Noem for dropping off the much needed supplies to us in bat cave. Those jackets are about the warmest I’ve ever owned 😊 It meant so much to be seen, to be heard, and to be helped.

Praise God for His mighty hand and love!❤🙏 For those areas that are accessible, can those trees, when dried out, be processed as lumber to rebuild homes? Maybe a lumber mill would be willing to donate time and space to do so? Those downed trees, brush and debris need to be cleared out, where accessible, before wildfire season hits NC and TN. There is time, but please urge others, including government, to act so there isn't a repeat of CA. I'm praying those areas affected by Helene have enough safe drinking water, as well as water to fight fires if they do hit later this year.🙏

What part is man made? I saw where a church had burned to the ground, and another congregation welcomed the members of the church that burned down to worship with them. We are expected to love one another.

There are satellites showing fires going up all at the same time in areas that were nowhere near each other. The theory is that they were caused by arsonists. The winds were NOT man-made, no one in their right mind would say they were, but they certainly fanned the flames into an inferno. The ongoing tragedy of Helene was in no way man made. And these people are apparently getting aid mainly from Samaritans Purse. Perhaps the difference might be that no celebrities or politicians have homes there. Thus no huge outpouring of money. The Californians, however, are not living outdoors in harsh winter conditions. I know that part because I'm FROM Southern California. I know what winters are like there. That being said - BOTH disasters are horrific and tragic. Losses like these ? All suffer. My prayers are with ALL the victims - in BOTH places.
