Currently the citizens seek those in tents to get them into warm living spaces. Those amazing volunteers gave much and continue with their tireless service. God bless this man - what a grest idea. Many years ago my partner and I put up a 10x20 shed with a porch to use as a vacation house. People laughed at us. We had a wood stove, an outdoor pump for water and no electricity, but we and her 3 kids spent great times there for 19 years. There are times for people to just get it done. Yeah, maybe they're not up to code or beautiful, but they can be warm and dry and safer than living in your car.

Read the the Stopgap funding bill voted down by Republicans on September 25 before you bash Fema. Also MANY people did not apply for help because of rumors about that Fema could take your property which is false. I lost a home in a hurricane and dealt with Fema and you have to apply for help. Lowe's has been great. They donated 100 fully insulated, self-contained, furnished tiny homes, with appliances (WH, Mini-split heat & AC, Refrigerator, 2 burner cooktop), a bathroom (36" shower, flushing toilet), kitchen with sink, cabinets, countertop, living space with 2 full size beds with mattresses & pillows in each, and a 3'x8' storage loft. They got them all delivered to families who had been in tents. ❤

It may also be that he has (still) run into red tape, in placing these. People have been evicted from tiny homes, etc, on their own property; now considered a "flood zone", unable rebuild on their own property, or tiny homes being coded, not allowed (but tents are ok??).. etc. His info should have been shared. Also, the actual number of dwellings he had provided so far was cut out by the video.
