with silver bows it's just ward arrow. but that prevents enemy mages from using magic attacks for the next turn so you don't even need a res boost.

Just wanted to point out that, while you do get half of the invested marks added to the exchange value of forged weapons, it does NOT account for if the weapon was previously evolved from another weapon. Thus, an unforged killer bow will have the same exchange value regardless of if it was freshly dropped, or evolved all the way up from an iron bow.

I can confirm that DF are no longer immune to Hex from the Shadow Sword as they were in Gaiden. People may believe this due to looping a DF enough to earn 22 luck (which really isn't that hard to reach unless you're unlucky). At 22 luck, Hex won't ever trigger.

Believe me, even if you have the weapons maxed out, it wont matter unless your troops have the stats for it. Most terrors have more than 25 defense and 30 attack on the later floors, specially when there are fire dragons.

Pssh, my Delthea and Celica can double Fire Dragons with Ragnarok, they die in one round. My Atlas had 33 base attack and my Tobin a 70% crit rate, both of them with maxed Killer Bows. They weren't that scary

StickFigure I know, I'm just saying how dangerous they can be even if you have op troops, I just had Tobin with a brave bow, Kliff with a mage ring, and Delthea with a ladyblade. They crit so much it's not even funny and Kliff reached his max speed so every attack of his would double no matter what. Oh, and I had a Yasha Lukas with Max defense, attack, and skill with a brave sword maxed. Second run through of the dungeon was easy.

In Japan and China, sol(太陽), luna(月光) and astra(流星) they are called the LEGENDARY weapons (伝説の武器). And Mercurius, Gradivus, and Parthia are just called the three artifact weapons (三種の神器) of Archanea.

One of the best weapons to forge into is the Zweihänder in my opinion. High damage, decent hit rate, crit bonus, as well as the Sunder, Penetrate, and Tigerstance skills. Tigerstance adds the unit's Skill to the damage dealt.

Favorite forges were sol, astra and luna, seriously did the herculean task of getting all 3 before the postgame, but other notable weapons i enjoyed were the radiant bow giving a magical weapon option for archers and a nice combat art against terrors, the rapier for anti-Calvary and anti-armor goodness, saunion for being a bow in the form of a throwing lance, and rhomphia for sure, also with alms ultimate skill as an art on the sword to kill duma it is surprisingly really good, and outpreforms the royal sword for me once forged

I recommend trading over the Ladyblade to Alm's side. At full forge, it gives Delthea 20+ damage on top of stellar attack.

You can make the Regalia by fully upgrading and evolving the three blessed weapons (Sword, Lance, and Bow). But good luck finding enough gold marks to do that for 2 ok weapons and 1 crappy one. (Oh, and you can find the lance one, but that's kind of a end game spoiler)

My 2 cents: Forging the Royal Sword for Alm will give Alm one of the best swords in the game. But there's a catch: *Spoilers* The game kinda forces you to use Falchion on Alm instead once you get to the Final Boss, and Falchion unforged is a lot weaker than Forged Royal Sword, besides having an effectiveness against Terrors. Forged Falchion is a lot more competitive with Forged Royal Sword, Falchion has Terror effectiveness, both have Alm's ultimate Art, Royal Sword I THINK has slightly better raw stats, though I might be wrong, and Royal Sword also has Double Lion. In fact, thinking about it now, Double Lion is probably so stronk that it makes Royal Sword > Falchion whenever you don't need Regicide. Just know that if you forge Royal Sword that Falchion will come along later.

at least you get Royal Sword pretty early and can enjoy it through the whole story before the end where you have to use Falchion. Anyways in my case the last chapter was opening the way for Alm, I had many Gold Knights, Bow Knights and Dread Fighters take the lead with their high mobility while the healers mantained the party alive. Alm basically just advanced slowly with the infantry until I teleported him to finish the encirclement of Duma and deal the final blow. So really, the only thing I did with the Falchion was kill Duma lol. Anyways, you can literally use the Royal Sword at the final boss if you like to lead with Alm, he's the convoy so when you reach Duma you can just change your sword to Falchion and deal the final blow.

The Royal Sword is easily my favorite weapon in this game. It's found pretty early on, its skills are top-notch, it's lightweight and strong, and the pegasus cheese found alongside it lets one obtain exotic spice from the cheese man, giving one enough gold marks to immediately forge it to its strongest form. Oh, and it just flatly never gets outclassed. Even Falchion needs some forging to stand up to it.

Double Lion is just too good, costs 10 hp less than Scendscale (which falchion has) and guarantees a double hit first, there's not many times where you would use scendscale unless for fun, so Royal Sword is more effective in the long run yeah.

Here are some suggestions Dread fighter Lukas (Make him into a knight first) Then when he becomes a mercenary, give him a brave sword. have fun watching lukas destroy anything that approaches him. Killer bow atlas is O.P due to hunter's volley that he learns quite quickly. Pegasus knight Silque is quite good too. I used 2 pegasus cheese on her and she doubles almost anything.

Echoes Forged Killer Bows, brave swords, and the 3 Regalia were very useful throughout my play through of whole game. I also forged the Falchion, Royal Sword, and Beloved Zofia to help their stats. As far as rusted weapons, I forged a Dracoshield from a Fafnir in Thabes as well as I have recently required Sol. Missing Luna and Astra right now. This is probably the best forging system in the series imo. It's simple and very easy to use.

Kinda late but for me getting Parthia was the best investment I ever made, that thing carried me in Thabes since I was under leveled with most units. It’s so broken thanks to the skill, that skill alone saved me from the final boss of the dungeon. Thing is it was my first try doing the dungeon at that point I had one turnwheel left so I really did not want anyone to die in the final boss. Thanks to my Tobin and Parthia however I was able to cheese it, Parthia with the skill allowed me to attack the final boss outside it’s huge range and slowly but surely I was able to chip damage it to death. Parthia for the win!

*Echoes!* However--I do disagree on getting rid of all the Shadow Swords. With the "Villager" glitch Dread Masters have, you can cycle the character in level loops, and with enough luck, the Shadow Swords curse will almost never trigger, giving you a deadly powerful blade that sucks out the souls of defeated enemies. Very useful for creating potential one man army-type units if you take the time for it!

Yeah, the Brave Sword is bonkers. If you have fast enough units with high skill, though, I find Zweihanders to be better only for the higher damage, slightly lower crit and insane skill (Tigerstance, ADDS SKILL TO DAMAGE).

Despite being a Regalia weapon, it seems to me Mercurius sucks. A lot. Sure, it has 12 MT, 90 Hit, 1 WT when maxed and gives Recovery, but compared to the Silver Sword maxed (same MT, 100 Hit, same WT), it has worse HIT, costs a TON of gold marks to make and max (9!!), and has no skills. Silver Sword only costs 400 silver to max (if you find one instead of making it) and has two immensely useful skills; one gives you a huge evasion bonus and crit bonus, and the other gives a lesser evasion bonus, same crit bonus and IGNORES HALF THE OPPONENT'S DEFENSE. Oh, but I guess you don't get Recovery. So yeah, worse Regalia. Silver Sword best not-Regalia.

I think it's good for Priestesses for the healing effect while also diversifying their effective damage, but I can definitely see your logic with the outrageous cost.

You make a good point. Priestesses don't really need weapon skills, since spells basically do the same, but with more predictable effect (i.e. range, more damage, more WT, more crit, etc.) However, its abysmal starting HIT of 80 (implying you don't bust your whole load to max it) makes it hard to recommend outside the healing factor and weapon damage utility, as a heavily farmed Delthea ended up with only a 70~ chance to hit on a speedier foe, and a 70 might as well be your chance to hit air. A much better Priestess weapon would be Ladyblade. Ladyblade, out of the box, gives Priestesses 12 MT (and 85 Hit, +5 crit) due to the attack doubling for women, so equal to a maxed Mercurius. However, it's Recovery is arguable a lot more important for Priestesses, cause magic = life. I still adamantly stand by my original point, mostly to make up having made the silly thing in the first place and being out 7 gold, lol

You can't forget about the Zweihander. Basically the sword version of Rhomphaia. It unlocks a skill that adds the user's skill stat to their strength when attacking. Just forge a steel sword 2-3 times, then evolve it for 1 gold mark

Lucky Crit I actually did not know I could get Sol, Luna, and Astra in the endgame dungeon. I've beaten Echoes 14 times already now, and I just got Luna in the Inner Sanctum DLC after just starting Act 2 today on my 15th playthrough. Not even 5 minutes later, I also got Parthia in the same DLC. Now if only I could get a Scorpio shard or 2, I'd have some Star Jacinths on Celica's route.

You forgot to mention that forging a shadow sword allows you upgrade it into the ilwoon. the ilwoon teaches wrath strike, lounge, and death blow. Unforged it has a 70% hit rate, a might of 10, a 15% crit, and a weight of 4. fully forged ilwoon has 13 might, 25% crit, 70% hit, 2 weight, and costs 150 silver marks and 1 gold mark.

That's on Serenes as well (under items). But to summarize it real quick: they change stat growth percentages. You forgot about forging the Shadow sword into the Ilwoon, it's a sword with very high might and Crit, it helped me beat the secret boss without dlc.

i got an Exotic Spice (only once) in Thabe's Labyrinth and was giddy about it. most interesting enough, a "naturally spawned" Mongoll dropped a rusted lance when i was battling Duma lmao. now im farming Fiends and Deathgoyles in Thabe's and its a pain in the ass. i might get the Dragon Slayer award before ill even get those weapons....

You can get exotic spice twice during Alm's route in chapter 3' and you can get one for Celica's side doing the dragon fillet quest (honestly you can find these in the inner sanctum without doing the quest). Mila's gift 3 also gives you 5 gold marks.

What they do is allow you to class change a character once they reach level 20 in the final class of a line. But considering how hard it is to get EXP after hitting level 10, there's not a massive chance you'll use them.

Fair point. I guess it depends upon if you plan on forging it or not. Some people think it isn't worth it. But the skills are unique as far as I can remember. But you're correct, I suppose there isn't much of a point! I just wanted to make it clear that some items you only get one of and will miss out on the ability of learning previous skills from it.

I see that you had Valbar hooked up with a Leather Shield. I know it's not the best shield, but tbh, my Valbar was holding it for most of Celica's Route. Tbh, the Swap ability, plu Valbar decent defense growth, made him into a really good tank for me.

You can get them from enemy drops, repairing rusted weapons found in the lower floors of Thabes or on DLC. Regardless of the method, they are always extremely rare

Gystes __ Rapiers do extra damage to Horseback *AND* Armored units, thus making them pretty useful when your dealing with lots of Horseback and/or Armored units.

On the Regalia: Gradivus is fantastic, and you can forge one as early as act 3 on Alm's route Mercurius is a pretty good weapon, but is outclassed by some other swords Parthia is absolute trash. A 3-star killer bow does the same damage as a fully forged Parthia, but is more accurate, costs less, weighs less and has a critical chance. Only make Parthia if you want the Archanean Regalia achievement.

Another wonderful change following the disaster that was forging in Fates, constantly having to buy multiples of the same damn weapon, forging each several dozen times, for small bonuses each time, when in this game you just dump a certain amount to reap certain rewards. The evolution mechanic adds a ton of depth and, I should note, the Brave Sword can enter a loop where you can forge it back and forth between a Shadow Sword and Brave Sword. PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON SOL, LUNA AND ASTRA WEAPONS!!

true. but especially against bulky enemies the sheer insane strengh of the shadow sword helped me to destroy some enemies with dread fighters on a fast promotion run. especially if they did crit anyway :) Just thought many people didnt know that, I read it up when I was wondering why despite the low luck, Jesse never backfired with it.

A bit late, but I feel like the Beloved Zofia should’ve had Plentitude and Earth's Boon as well, since the Golden Dagger is the only weapon that actually has them.
