Boucheron has very nice colors as a General, I've also tried mage knight Jade and wasn't to impressed so i made her a high priest on a whim and as it happens the classes high res made her into a massive mage tank so i doubled down and gave her arms shield up to the +7 damage reduction (if i remember correctly the max is 10) and Erika's Gentility+ for 5 less damage in general and she was able to tussle with mages and wolf knights. I'd recommend Gentility on your Jade as well if you use Erika to swap to Ephraim it will also swap the skill on Jade for 5 free damage not to mention she would have both when Erika is engaged all told Gentility/Bravery is a cracked skill to inherit

Just leave fogado on his cupido class and throw an upgraded radiant bow on him and he does the same thing. He's good either way I think

Another good choice for mage knight is Rosado. Mind they will need a mag state boost but they get 50% growths in both str, mag and spd, and reasonable 40% growths in dex and def. Also try the three houses emblems for warrior characters. Mainly because of the gambits they can use and the weapon sync works to give them extra dmg when you have either Claude or Edelgard

u can engarve a silver bow instead of running spd dex +2 and this can open either a brave bow build with strenght + and speed +5 or a magic bow build but honestly just by having him chilling on the back with his long bow he was super usefull during the whole game he have enougt bulk and speed to duel or at least chip any units of madening

Okay for Boucheron, wooden Veronica’s reprisal skillet, work better than axe power? Since you have to keep your health so low, it would also give you an increased bonus to any engage attacks /weapons that aren’t axes, although the avoid penalty might be a benefit in making sure you are hit so potato potato My real question is why not go Camila on Jade? I mean, everything you said makes sense and does make Jade very powerful, but she comes with an innate Axe proficiency, making her a Axe mage knight would allow you to use Camila’s special attack on a silver great axe, + you’ll get +2 movement for better positioning, you could even replace mag/res +2 with surprise attack 👀 That’s roughly the set I’m planning on using Myself lol

Can I recommend Cupido Fogado with Emblem Leif, Momentum, and Sword Power? The only bow I’m using is the Radiant Bow, but the rest of his inventory is swords like Levin and Killer. For me this has worked pretty well and Quadruple Hit is a good nuke Obviously there’s stronger builds, but gimmicks are fun lol

Now if only we can find a sword-wielding unit who can be a General, but doesn’t have their natural talents cruelly curbed like poor Lapis (*why* does the class cap speed so friggin’ much?!) Besides Kagetsu that is, because I want someone else who can do as I’m a stubborn dastard. :-P Hmm… Céline? Or is losing her magic too great an issue? Maybe Alear, then? I don’t know, damn it; the devs just *had* to dash my dreams of Speed Demon General Lapis. Screw you, IntSys. :-(

The fogado thing seems very uneeded outside another chain attack unit he preforms the as cupido you’re just not using the radiant bow that weapon makes him so much much better

Etie is not amazing tbh so i always throw her out when alcyst comes in. Fogado in his personal class is great enough tbh. Slap a shining bow on him and your made.
