my experience is the opposite. virgin lapua brass shoots better than fireformed 3x fired brass. I made video on it and the fresh brass resulted in 30% smaller group than fireformed brass.

@@annahonorata990 interesting I've heard that also, I did this test cause I did not want to fire forn 100 more rounds if there was no gain. I've got 20 more new brass loaded up and I will try again. Worst case is I'll have 20 more fired brass lol. My guess is this chamber is sloppy. I have a 223 that shoots new factory Hornady best but chamber is real tight. Custom barrel. Bolt is a bit stiff to close on the 223 due to being made for Hornady match rounds specifically.

Tune seating depth and possibly powder charge on your fireformed brass. The formed brass should outperform virgin, assuming you're doing everything correctly. Look at how the benchrest and f-class guys do it. I doubt a record has ever been set with virgin brass.

Hello, I am shooting whit TLD for several years now. Try Lapua Scenar L 175gr whit Vihtavuori n140, about 2590 fps, OAL about 73mm, Lapua brass. Also Siera TMK 175gr works well

The only centerfire I shoot is my deer rifle and I've never reloaded but that was an interesting result. If just using new brass it looks like working up loads could be frustrating. The fired brass groups were impressive.

Before I reloaded I used to get great groups with factory match ammo, But not consistently, by that I mean under 1/2 MOA, that much accuracy not really needed for hunting IMO And yes its frustrating 80 percent of the time. LOL

Hi, It looks like to my eye that your rear bag is soft. Can you tell me what your front rest is? That looks really nice. That’s a beautiful rifle. Do most people in Canada shoot 1000 yards with 308? In the States I see various 7mm calibers/cases. 7mm PRC and PRCW seems to be the most popular. Good luck with this endeavor.

@@jimmccaffery410 shooting in F-TR which is either 308 or 223 only. F-open is unlimited calibers. Front rest is Seb joypod
