Fun fact, the ZARC deck from a couple months back is is also pretty cheap. Swap out the thrusts for an extra copy of lightwurm, pend evolution, and Destrudo, and you can really go off. I got my deck for like 60 bucks.

It's not that crazy when you realize that tearlaments can only accomplish that once every three games. Plus non engine is really strong right now, so if you open enough of those and your deck can set up an okay resource loop then it's fine

Or cut the Thrusts and play the Chronograph package instead. You need free bodies, preferably ones that don't make you lose in time, and Chronograph works extremely well as an extender off Gate Magician's self pop or as a normal free drop + pend summon embiggener by putting himself in the ED. Really great card. Makes me want Astrograph to come back to 3.

Yeah, mine too. Nephthys has the additional advantage of making Kirin worth playing. Destroy Kirin -> mill Nephthys -> revive with Arvata -> blow up backrow next standby phase, but you’re probably better off using Onslaught instead, if you can.

Yea no banlist is needed just the new support it’s match ups are incredible. Despite the destruction effects it’s actually got a good unchained matchup post banlist because it’s monster negate doesn’t destroy cards and it can make S:p for a banish 2 on their turn. Also you have the non-engine stuff like imperm ash etc. on the other hand besides the link stuff unchained also has destruction disruption so it just triggers your cards for free.

While it's not out yet for TCG, Prisoner Princess of Fruitful Flames pairs perfectly with Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale, and also fits neatly into any Fire decks. Especially good for Fire King because if your opponent specials a monster, she can revive herself while popping one monster on each field, and Amblowhale can resummon Prisoner Princess with its effect.

I've been a diehard firebird fanboy for a long time, so Nephtys was always my jam. It wasn't good (shocker), but I like it. I feel like there's enough room here to add Fire King support, trim the fat of the Nephtys cards, and make something... that will lose to basically any meta deck but will be enjoyable at locals, and that's gonna have to be enough for me.

Been always thinking on how FKs can be a weird response to all the effect destruction seen around, or how they could mix up with things such as Nephtys or (god forbid) unchained (sorry I'm casual so I might be missing stuff). Fire King has been my favorite deck since they were introduced and I cannot believe that they are not only getting support, but GOOD support. The deck maintains its identity while getting a massive power boost that makes it one of the most competitive decks in the modern game. Stuff like this is legacy support at its best. Please Konami, make more stuff like this and less stuff like the 48th Neos fusion monster or Stardust extender which does virtually nothing.

Not that it mattered, but you missed lethal in that first tear game at 10:41. Ponix grab the sky burn quick play spell instead, then play as you did until garunix, kirin and barong on field. Kirin/garunix overlay for hyang. Hyang attack, barong attack, in the battle phase use sky burn to pop your hyang, then it specials back both materials which swing for lethal

Definitely do not show that Earth Machine duel to peeps, the player could have targeted Machina Gearframe with Regulus instead of Unclaspare, Machina Gearframe can special summon itself from the spell and trap zone and you can keep extending from there.

When the new cards come out for this deck it’ll no longer lose to dweller, droll or really anything except shifter. I did test hands a lot and the deck plays through drill if you hard open fire king island. Dweller does nothing since a lot of triggers happen on your opponents turn and you can otk going 2nd with the amount of non-engine to stop turns + just the fire engine can otk will without needing graveyard effects. I thinks these duels showcase how scary the deck is, and how it will become when the new support glue everything together even stronger.

@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 ok, you can play through droll if you open any of the following cards, Arvata (which is a 3 of), fire king island (which is a 2 of), sanctuary of the fire king (which is a 3 of) or Sacred Fire King Garunix (which is a 3 of). So basically if you can’t draw any of those which is an 11/40 and your opponent can see droll which is 3/40 chance then yes, your board might not have 5 disruptions, but then your opponent is just more skilled. Harder to draw the out than a way around the out. Also some decks play 1 if called by so there’s technically like a 12/40 to be able to push through droll. Basically drolls good against this deck but it isn’t guaranteed to win you the duel because if they have the tools they’ll just play on your turn.

Fire Kings have been speculated about for weeks by other Yugitubers. If anything, he's actually late to the party here. People have been speculating about Fire Kings being a tier-1 deck for a while because their own support is good, but there's been other generic fire-support and Link support. One take that stands out to me is the assertion that the support that people are saying will make Fire Kings very good also make Rescue-Ace better. So, people are apparently going to try out the support with Fire Kings, realize how well it works with Rescue-Ace, then either run a hybrid deck or just make Rescue-Ace tier-0. I mean, that's certainly a take, let's see how it plays out.

Eh, to get Tenki out of the deck? You don't play a lot of beast warriors in this variant, and you don't really want to take them off the board yourself by any means other than destruction in order to keep their effects triggering and in rotation
