Had the Fire Maple for quite some time. It is a very reliable alternative to the Jetboil. I keep the FM in my vehicle for truck camping and day trips. I still like my Jetboil MicroMo but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the FM.

It would be useful to have a comparison between these systems and the JetBoil systems. I have the JetBoil MiniMo and enjoy being able to use a regular pan or pot on top. I wonder which system is more compact and lighter yet delivers the most features.

Great video Mark, I definitely like some of the more versatility of the X2. Not only does it come with the canister stand, but I like the included universal pot stand/ring to use with a fry pan etc. Cheers my friend.

Firemaple should sell the x2 frypan burner setup individually, and in a remote canister setup. I think it would be a good stove. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

Mark, after watching your video of the Polaris remote canister stove I bought one as well as a Firemaple bushpot. I’ve been using both quite a bit lately and performance is top notch. The regulator on the stove is quite good, I was out yesterday in sub freezing temps and did not realize my gas canister was near empty. I still was able to get a good regulated flame to make some coffee and cook a stew that took about 15 minutes to simmer. Near the end I did have to warm the gas can with my hands, as it froze to the rock it was sitting on, but the stove continued to run. I prefer a separate stove and pot in case I decide to cook over fire, but these systems intrigue me. Never used one but may try someday.

Hello Mark and thanks for the video review. I am a big fan of heat exchangers on a cook pot especially for alcohol stoves. Check out the "Sterno Inferno" and swap out the sterno fuel for a small alcohol stove and throw away the plastic because it will melt. I found this system incredibly efficient for alcohol which makes it more viable for an extended trip,

Both JetBoil and Fire Maple stoves are made in China, aren't they? If so, a direct comparison of similar stoves from each company would be in order, I would think. Is anyone making a pressurized gas stove on this continent currently?

I am not aware of any locally made systems. I would very much like to compare these systems with a Jet Boil, or MSR or other brands and will if I can get a hold of them. Thanks for commenting

G'day Mark, dig the X2 in particular, (with the pot/pan stand and proper locking handle), worth the extra dough IMO, but it really is fantastic they offer several choices. With its own feet on the ground, I wonder if its possible to use a hose with an elbow fitting at the burner end on the X2, to run a canister remotely ? That'd address stability and you could also change over the canister without disturbing the burner and whatever is on top, i.e. half way through a cook. and at the same time, nor would you have a potentially hot burner housing to contend with. Oh yeah, + you could then employ the upside down canister trick. Cheers Duke.

Yeah, it has the neoprene sleeve, so it doesn't need the handle. What is the function of all that plastic on the burner part. They are a bit too big. All you need to boil at one go is 350ml, 800ml capacity is more than enough.
