i cut a piece a emery cloth same size that lights er up easier plus water wont soften emery cloth ...

you can get the replacement matches at Walmart I paid like 2 bucks they come in a pack of 25 and also give you more strikers

It's generally a smart idea to wipe it off, just like you would in a survival situation before striking.....Also try putting your finger on the tip when striking and move it away quickly after, this will prevent breaking

Thanks for the input. Read the comments below and you will see I said the same thing. I intentionally did not wipe them off for the test. I am curious are you trying to be helpful or just a troll? Honestly let me know because I'm not showing people how to use them as much as testing them. How would you dry them off when it's pouring down rain and you are soaked suffering from hypothermia? Part of testing is introducing different conditions to see how the product will behave. In closing I have nothing to prove here. I'm not trying to impress silly people who watch silly videos. I am trying to post real world useful videos that will help people make better informed decisions. If I am wrong please let me know and take the time to fully understand the topic / conversation before stating the obvious. Im not trying to hurt feelings just trying to keep it honest. Thanks... InteliGear I am honestly trying to be helpful....To dry it off I would suggest you either had rainproof clothing so your undershirt would be useful or that you bring something like eyeglass wipes

Othon Villarreal It was part of a Coleman Exponent cook set I purchased in the late 90's or early 2000's. They don't make them any more. Maybe you can find a used one online. Besides looking cool they are freaking heavy and not ideal for backpacking. I never took the whole kit just the pot and lid when I went camping. Be Well Friend... InteliGear.

the case and 25 matches are 4.97 at walmart and 25 matches without the case are 2.97 i just bought some yesterday
