The traffic lights in my state change to green for emergency vehicles and red for everyone else to help clear the intersection ahead of time. I am surprised that isn't done in other places.

It’s because they have vehicles with an infrared transmitter that basically signals the light to change when they’re in a certain distance of the light, most places don’t have the budget to equip every single vehicle and traffic light either technology required

Hello there. If you're referring to South Queensbury Engine 308 (Engine 5), the truck was recently replaced. It is on loan to Kingsbury Fire temporarily, but it is on it's last legs for being in service. Thank you for watching!

4:13 Ok, I understand some trucks require certain specific designing in order for the truck to work for the fire department, and also too make sure it fits, so on and so forth. However, if there's one thing that really annoys me is this: the lights on the back of this truck. I see this a lot of times, and again, I understand it's by default due to design and such, but I mean, is there really any reason to off set emergency lights like that? It's just ugh.
